Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bea-fon M5 Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (M5)
This 3.8V, 1900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Bea-fon M5, M5_EU001B, and M5 Premium. It fits directly into the same battery bay with the same connector orientation. When the original cell loses capacity through repeated charge cycles, this replacement restores normal operation without replacing the handset.
- M5, M5_EU001B, and M5 Premium compatibility: All three variants run the same 3.8V power rail and use the same physical connector and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on M5 hardware. The BMS accepted charge handshake on the first cycle, voltage held steady under call and screen load, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the phone normally. The M5's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve — one full cycle resets it to the new cell so percentage readings stay accurate.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Bea-fon M5
This is the most common complaint after fitting any replacement cell in the M5. The fuel gauge IC still references the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's actual state of charge. When the modem fires during a call or the screen brightness spikes, the cell voltage drops sharply under load — faster than the gauge predicted. The BMS reads that as a low-voltage fault and cuts power. One full discharge-to-shutdown and uninterrupted recharge cycle forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its map against the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% stop.
M5 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this cell dropped below roughly 2.5V before installation, the BMS enters lockout mode and the phone shows no sign of life — no boot screen, no charging indicator. Connect the M5 to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes. A wall charger delivers enough current to push the cell past the BMS recovery threshold. Once the cell climbs back above 3.0V, the BMS releases lockout and the phone will power on and begin a normal charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Bea-fon M5 shuts off at around 25% after I put the new battery in — what's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC on the M5 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. The new cell hits a steeper voltage drop under modem or screen load than the gauge expects, so the BMS trips the low-voltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% in a single uninterrupted session. That resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's curve and the early shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my M5 jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — is the cell faulty?
It is not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's impedance and capacity profile, which differs from the worn original. Until it completes at least one full reference cycle, the percentage reading will skip or jump. Complete one full discharge-to-shutdown followed by one uninterrupted charge to 100%. The IC locks in the new reference curve after that cycle and the percentage display stabilises.
The M5 feels warm near the battery while charging with the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several dozen charge cycles. The charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, and the extra resistance converts some of that energy to heat. It is most noticeable in the first five to ten charge cycles. If the phone is warm but not hot to the touch and charging completes normally, no action is needed — impedance drops as the cell breaks in and the warmth reduces on its own.
