Fits Cricket Dream 5G smartphone, replacing OEM part number HE403.
Voltage measures 3.87V at 4600mAh capacity—supplies 17.8Wh total energy for full-day operation on the Dream 5G.
Connector is a two-pin contact interface seated flat against the device housing; locking tab engages on the left side.
We ran discharge cycles on a bench charger; the BMS accepted standard USB input without fault codes and held voltage under modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cricket Dream 5G / EC211001 — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HE403)

This is a 3.87V, 4600mAh (17.8Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Cricket Dream 5G smartphone (model EC211001). It replaces part number HE403 — the original cell used in this device. Fit this when the original battery no longer holds a useful charge, swells, or fails to power the phone.

  • Dream 5G / EC211001 fitment: Both model references share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The HE403 part number covers the full EC211001 production run — no hardware revision splits the compatibility.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Dream 5G platform. The BMS accepted the charge curve without triggering a protection cutoff, and the fuel gauge IC locked onto the new cell's capacity within one full cycle.
  • First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cricket Dream 5G after a cell swap

The Dream 5G's fuel gauge IC builds its state-of-charge model from the original cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve. A new cell has a slightly different curve, so the IC underestimates remaining capacity at low charge states. When the modem fires a 5G transmission burst or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes and cell voltage drops sharply — the IC reads this as a hard cutoff and the phone shuts down. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate corrects the IC's internal model. After calibration, voltage readings at the 20–30% range stabilise and shutdowns stop.

USB-PD fast charge not accepted on the first cycle after replacement

After fitting a new HE403 cell, some users find the phone charges at slow speed only — the fast charge icon never appears. The charge IC uses a BMS handshake to confirm cell state before allowing high-current USB-PD negotiation; on a fresh cell with no charge history, it defaults to a low-current trickle until the first full cycle completes. This is not a fault. Run one full standard-rate charge to 100% and discharge below 15%, then reconnect the fast charger. The USB-PD handshake re-establishes at that point and fast charging resumes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Cricket Dream 5G powers off at around 25% and won't stay on — is the new battery bad?

The cell itself is fine. The fuel gauge IC recalibrated its cutoff threshold against the old cell's discharge curve, so it triggers a shutdown when voltage sags under modem or display load near that percentage. Run one full discharge to below 5% and a full charge at standard (non-fast) rate. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve and the early shutdowns stop.

My Dream 5G battery percentage jumps around erratically after fitting the HE403 — it drops 10% in seconds then climbs back up.

Erratic percentage readings are the fuel gauge IC losing track of cell state because its stored discharge model no longer matches the new cell. The IC is recalculating in real time, which produces the visible jumps. Disable fast charging, drain the phone fully until it powers off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The coulomb counter resets to the new cell's baseline on that cycle and percentage reporting stabilises.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a worn cell, so the charge IC delivers more energy as heat during the first few charge cycles. Surface warmth is expected — it reduces as the cell forms over 3–5 cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or triggers a charging-paused notification, remove it from the charger and let it cool to room temperature, then resume charging at or below 25°C.
