Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Explay Q232 / Q233 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell for the Explay Q232 and Q233 smartphones. It slots into either model and restores power when the original cell can no longer hold a charge. Capacity is 3.7Wh — identical to the factory specification.
- Q232 and Q233 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions and voltage rail. The cell footprint is 46.89 × 44.00 × 5.37mm, which matches the physical compartment in both handsets without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted a standard charge current without tripping, and the protection circuit cut off correctly at the low-voltage threshold — no anomalous behaviour at either end of the charge curve.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable fast charging if your charger supports it, then run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown followed by a complete charge. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its reference curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated state-of-charge counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. Under peak load — mobile data, screen at full brightness, active call — the cell voltage drops sharply. The BMS reads that drop and cuts power before the percentage counter reaches zero. It happens most on a new cell that has not yet been calibrated to the fuel gauge IC. Run one full discharge-charge cycle and the shutdown threshold should stabilise. If it continues after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a loose contact increases internal resistance and amplifies the voltage sag under load.
Phone will not power on after sitting in storage
If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charging. The phone shows no response on a standard cable. Connect it to a low-current USB source — a PC port or a 5V 500mA adapter — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. This trickle current nudges the cell voltage above the BMS recovery threshold. Once the phone shows a charging indicator, switch to your normal charger and complete a full cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Explay Q232 keeps shutting off at around 25% — why does it die before the battery is empty?
The cell voltage drops sharply under high-current loads like mobile data or an active screen, and the BMS trips before the percentage counter reaches zero. This is a voltage cliff, not a faulty cell. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown followed by a full charge — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual discharge curve. If the shutdowns continue after two full cycles, reseat the battery connector, as a loose contact raises internal resistance and worsens the voltage sag.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically after I put in the replacement — is the new cell defective?
It is not defective. The fuel gauge IC on the Q232 is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old, degraded cell. The new cell behaves differently under load, so the counter loses sync and reports unstable percentages. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle the coulomb counter resets its reference and the percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery — the phone now charges slowly on the same charger.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can fall back to standard 5V current while it handshakes with the new BMS. This is normal behaviour. Complete one full charge at the slower rate without unplugging mid-cycle. On the second charge, the proprietary protocol re-establishes and fast charging resumes. If it does not return after two full cycles, check that the battery flex connector is fully clicked down — an incomplete connection breaks the BMS communication line the charge IC relies on.
