Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG 4010 / G4010 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BSL-61G)

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion replacement battery carrying OEM part number BSL-61G. It fits the LG 4010, G4010, 4011, and G4011 mobile phones. Capacity figure is taken from product data — 800mAh (2.96Wh).

  • 4010 / G4010 / 4011 / G4011 compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The BSL-61G cell meets the voltage rail and communication requirements across the entire group — no hardware modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 4010 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the protection circuit tripped as expected on overcurrent simulation.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the LG 4010 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The LG 4010 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model around the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still referencing the old cell's internal resistance and capacity profile. The percentage readout will drift — often showing full charge when the cell is partially depleted, or dropping sharply mid-session. One full uninterrupted discharge down to shutdown followed by a full charge resets the coulomb counter and realigns the gauge to the new cell curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under load from the modem or display, cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge anticipates — the phone shuts down before the gauge reaches 0%. It happens most often in the first two or three cycles on a new cell because the gauge IC hasn't mapped the new cell's voltage sag curve yet. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption. After that, the gauge recalibrates and shutdowns before 20% should stop. If they continue past cycle three, check that resting voltage after a full charge reads at or above 4.1V.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LG 4010 won't power on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?

Most likely the BMS has locked out the cell after voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release and allow normal boot. If the charging indicator appears within that window, let it charge to 100% before switching on.

Fast charging stopped working after fitting this battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

The proprietary charge protocol on the LG 4010 is negotiated between the charge IC and the BMS on each new cell. On the first cycle with a replacement cell, the charge IC often defaults to standard 5V charging until it completes one full cycle and confirms the cell is stable. Complete one full charge at standard speed, then reconnect with your original fast-charge adapter. The protocol handshake should re-engage from the second cycle onward.

The battery percentage on my LG 4010 keeps jumping around erratically — it jumped from 45% to 12% in two minutes.

The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge model from the old cell. It hasn't mapped the voltage sag curve of the new cell yet, so percentage readings skip and jump under load. Run two full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycles — discharge until the phone shuts itself off, then charge to 100% without disconnecting. After the second full cycle, the coulomb counter will have enough data to track the new cell accurately and the erratic readings should stop.
