Fits Nokia 6700 Classic and 6700 Classic Illuvial; replaces OEM part BL-6Q.
3.7V, 800mAh lithium-ion cell restores talk time and application performance on aged devices.
Connector slides into the battery slot with locking tab oriented toward the phone's top edge.
We bench tested this cell on a 6700 Classic simulator; BMS accepted charge immediately, no lockout.
On first insertion, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before heavy calling — the fuel gauge IC needs a full curve sample against the new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia 6700 Classic — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-6Q)

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Nokia 6700 Classic and 6700 Classic Illuvial. It matches the OEM BL-6Q spec and fits the original battery bay without modification. Voltage and physical dimensions — 39.75 × 37.75 × 6.50mm — are consistent with the factory part.

  • 6700 Classic and 6700 Classic Illuvial compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. The BL-6Q form factor covers both without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the 6700 Classic platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly and held voltage above the low-battery cutoff threshold through the full discharge curve.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting a new cell, run one complete discharge to the phone's auto-shutdown point, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a measured discharge curve for the new cell before it starts reporting percentage to the OS.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell

The 6700 Classic's fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the original BL-6Q cell's discharge curve. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile will hit the IC's voltage floor earlier than the displayed percentage suggests. Under modem load — active call or data — the voltage sag is sharper, so the shutdown threshold is crossed while the display still reads 20–30%. One full discharge-recharge cycle recalibrates the IC against the new curve and corrects this behaviour.

Phone will not power on after the battery sat discharged in storage

Li-ion cells stored below approximately 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout to prevent damage from over-discharge. The 6700 Classic will show no response — no boot screen, no charging indicator — when this lockout is active. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell above the BMS reset threshold, typically around 2.9V, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nokia 6700 Classic shuts off mid-call even though the battery still shows 25% — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC stored the discharge curve of the old, degraded BL-6Q cell, and the replacement cell hits the voltage floor at a different point under modem load. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. That single cycle gives the IC a fresh reference curve and the premature shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my 6700 Classic jumps around erratically after fitting this replacement — sometimes it reads 80%, then drops to 40% in minutes.

Erratic percentage readings mean the coulomb counter is working from a stale calibration built around the old cell. The new cell's impedance and capacity are slightly different, so the IC's charge estimates diverge quickly. Complete one full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% — do not interrupt the charge cycle early. After that reference cycle the percentage tracking stabilises.

The phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge after fitting the replacement — is that normal?

Some warmth on first charge is expected. The charge IC pushes current into a new, higher-impedance cell while the BMS has no prior data on its characteristics, which generates slightly more heat than charging a conditioned cell. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charging stops before 100%, remove the battery and let it cool for ten minutes before reconnecting. Warmth that stays mild and disappears after the first full cycle is not a fault.
