Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Prestigio MultiPhone 5505 DUO — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PSP5505 Duo)

This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Prestigio MultiPhone 5505 DUO dual-SIM smartphone. Capacity is 1800mAh (6.66Wh), matching the stock specification. Fits the MultiPhone 5505 DUO only — confirm your model before ordering.

  • MultiPhone 5505 DUO fit: The dual-SIM variant uses a dedicated connector and contact layout. This cell matches that layout. Single-SIM 5505 variants use a different battery — the part number PSP5505 Duo applies to the DUO model only.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 5505 DUO platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC completed a full CC/CV charge cycle without interruption.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full sweep of the new cell's discharge curve before it starts reporting percentage to the OS.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MultiPhone 5505 DUO

The 5505 DUO runs two active SIM radios simultaneously. When both radios transmit at the same time — during a call on one SIM while the second polls for signal — the current draw spikes sharply. A cell with any internal resistance above spec cannot hold voltage under that load. The BMS reads the voltage drop as a hard cutoff threshold and shuts the phone down, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. One full calibration cycle after replacement brings the fuel gauge IC in line with the real discharge curve of the new cell, and the premature shutdowns typically stop.

OS percentage jumping erratically after cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the 5505 DUO stores a learned charge curve from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads a raw voltage, maps it against the old curve, and outputs an incorrect percentage — sometimes jumping 10–15% in either direction. Run one uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Prestigio MultiPhone 5505 DUO shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the replacement faulty?

Not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from your old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under dual-SIM load than the IC expects, so it triggers a hard shutdown before the actual charge is gone. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. That resets the coulomb counter against the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A fresh Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance on its first few charge cycles. The charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, which generates more heat than you'd see on a broken-in cell. It settles after three to five cycles. If the phone stays warm throughout the entire charge and the battery is hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect it and check that the charging contacts are seated cleanly against the cell terminals.

The 5505 DUO won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation.

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charging to protect the cell. Plug into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it connected for 30 to 60 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC on the 5505 DUO will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes and the phone powers on.
