This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. Li-ion cells shipped or stored for several months can drop below 2.5V per cell, which triggers a BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone shows nothing on screen — no charging animation, no vibration. Connect the phone to a wall charger rather than a PC port; wall chargers supply enough current to wake a locked-out BMS where USB ports often cannot. Leave it connected for 15–20 minutes without pressing any buttons. Once the cell climbs above 3.0V the BMS releases and the charging animation should appear.
