Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Aspire L51 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTP-52EW)
This is a 14.4V 4400mAh (63.36Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Acer Aspire L51 series notebook. It uses OEM part number BTP-52EW and mounts directly into the L51 battery bay. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to register in the BIOS.
- Aspire L51 compatibility: The L51 series uses a shared 14.4V battery rail with a specific connector keyed to BTP-52EW. The BMS in these machines handshakes with that part number during POST — mismatched cells trigger an immediate health warning regardless of actual charge state.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on an L51 chassis. The BMS accepted the cell without error codes, charge current ramped correctly from bulk to taper phase, and the fuel gauge IC registered capacity within normal calibration range by the third cycle.
- Post-install discharge cycle on the L51: After fitting this battery, run the laptop on battery power only until it hibernates at the BIOS low-voltage cutoff — do not force shutdown. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false health warning that appears after any cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after installation on the L51
The Aspire L51 BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM tied to the original cell's cycle count and rated Wh. When a new cell is fitted, that EEPROM data is stale — the BIOS reads it against the new cell and flags a mismatch as poor health. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to overwrite the old EEPROM baseline. After two to three cycles the health indicator normalises.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on the L51
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. The percentage display is pulled from the old cell's discharge profile, so the reported figure does not match the actual remaining voltage. Under full CPU and display load the cell hits its real low-voltage floor — around 10.8V for a 14.4V 4-cell pack — before the gauge reaches zero, and the BIOS cuts power immediately. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles without interruption. By the third cycle the gauge IC recalibrates to the new curve and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Aspire L51 BIOS shows the new battery as 0% and won't start charging — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the L51 can lose communication with a new cell if the battery was deeply discharged before installation or during shipping. Connect the AC adapter and leave the laptop closed for 30 minutes before attempting to boot — the charger circuit will push a trickle current through the cell even with the system off. If the cell voltage recovers above approximately 10.8V, the BMS will re-initialise and normal charge current will resume.
System information shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it lists a different capacity than the 63.36Wh on the label.
The Wh figure shown in Windows or the BIOS comes from EEPROM data written to the original cell at manufacture. A replacement cell carries its own EEPROM value, which may differ slightly from what the old cell reported — this is a data field difference, not a physical capacity difference. The actual charge capacity of the cell is 63.36Wh as rated. Run the battery learn cycle — one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then a full uninterrupted charge — and the system will recalculate the displayed Wh against the new cell's measured output.
The L51 charges the replacement battery to 80% then stops — the charge light goes solid and nothing moves.
Some Acer BIOS versions include a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. This is a firmware control, not a fault in the battery or charger. Open the BIOS setup utility on boot, navigate to the Power or Battery section, and check for a "Battery Care" or "Charge Limit" option — disable it or set the threshold to 100%. Save and reboot, then reconnect the adapter and the charge should continue past 80% to full.
