Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Precision 15 3571 — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GRT01)
This is a 15.2V, 4000mAh (60.8Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Dell Precision 15 3571 mobile workstation. It also fits the Alienware M17 R5 AMD, Latitude 5521, Latitude 5421, and several additional Dell platforms sharing the same OEM part family. Cross-references include GRT01, 00P3TJ, P104F003, P137G007, and P50E002 among others.
- Multi-platform Dell fit: The Precision 3571, Alienware M17 R5 AMD, and Latitude 54xx/55xx series share the same 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer pack, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one part number covers all these platforms.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Precision 3571 under sustained CPU and GPU load. The BMS held charge cut-in at 15.2V nominal, thermal throttle did not trigger, and the pack communicated state-of-charge correctly to the Dell Power Manager stack.
- Post-install calibration on the Precision 3571: After swapping the cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's capacity curve and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after replacement
The Dell BIOS stores learned capacity data in EEPROM tied to the original cell. When a new cell is installed, that stored data no longer matches the new pack's actual charge curve, so the BIOS flags health as poor or unknown. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is stale EEPROM data. Run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% to trigger the BIOS battery learn cycle. After one to two complete cycles, the health indicator should return to normal.
Precision 3571 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown
Under sustained CAD or rendering workloads, the CPU and discrete GPU draw sharp combined current spikes. If the cell's voltage drops below the BMS low-voltage cutoff under that load, the system shuts down even though the OS fuel gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. The fuel gauge IC reads voltage at rest, not under load — so the displayed percentage is accurate at idle but misleading under full draw. Confirm the cell voltage holds above 12.8V under load; if it collapses below that threshold, the BMS cutoff is functioning correctly and the displayed percentage is the calibration error to resolve.

Frequently Asked Questions
Dell Power Manager says my new battery's health is already at "Poor" right after I installed it — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The Dell BIOS holds EEPROM data from the previous cell, and when it reads a new pack, the mismatch triggers a false poor-health flag. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle against the new cell's actual capacity. After one or two complete cycles, the health status clears.
The Precision 3571 shows 55Wh in system info but the replacement cell is rated 60.8Wh — which number is correct?
System info pulls the Wh figure from EEPROM data written during the previous battery's learn cycle, not from the new cell's actual chemistry. The product data rating of 60.8Wh reflects the actual cell capacity. Once you complete a full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted recharge, the BIOS re-learns the capacity and the reported Wh figure updates to match the installed cell.
My Precision 3571's charge is stopping at 80% and won't go higher — is the replacement battery defective?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Dell's firmware includes an adaptive charging mode that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell stress during extended plugged-in use. Open Dell Power Manager, go to Battery Settings, and switch the charge mode from "Primarily AC" or "Custom" to "Standard" — that raises the charge ceiling back to 100%.
