Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP ENVY 16 / 16-f0035nr — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FZ06083XL)
This is an 11.55V, 7150mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the HP ENVY 16 and HP 16-f0035nr laptop series. It replaces OEM part numbers FZ06083XL, FZ06XL, M47636-2C1, M47636-2D1, M48025-005, and TPN-DB0I. The cell fits the standard battery bay on the 16-f0035nr, 16t-f000, ENVY 16-H0000CI, ENVY 16-H0000NA, and over 256 additional HP ENVY 16 configurations.
- ENVY 16 platform fit: The HP ENVY 16 series shares a common 11.55V three-cell Li-Polymer architecture across its H0000 and f000 submodels. Each variant uses the same physical connector, cell tab layout, and BMS communication protocol — which is why a single part number covers the full lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an ENVY 16-f0035nr unit and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly at first boot. The charge controller accepted the pack without triggering a fault state, and the fuel gauge IC began tracking state-of-charge within the first partial cycle.
- First-cycle calibration on HP ENVY 16: After installing this battery, run one full discharge to the hibernate cutoff point, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after any cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement
The HP ENVY 16 BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM — the small memory chip embedded in the pack. When a new cell is installed, the EEPROM holds factory defaults that don't match any learned charge history, so the BIOS flags the pack as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% gives the BIOS enough data to rewrite the health estimate correctly. After two to three complete cycles, the health warning clears on its own.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% remaining on the ENVY 16 gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits full CPU plus display load simultaneously, the IC misreads remaining capacity and sends a low-voltage shutdown signal earlier than it should. The fix is a calibration cycle: let the laptop discharge under normal load — screen on, active tasks running — all the way to hibernate, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After two full calibration cycles, the gauge reads correctly and the premature shutdown stops.

Frequently Asked Questions
HP ENVY 16 shows "Battery not detected" or 0% right after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?
The BMS handshake between the replacement pack and the HP charge controller sometimes stalls if the laptop wasn't fully powered off during the swap — not just sleep. Shut the laptop completely down, disconnect the AC adapter, install the battery, reconnect AC, then cold-boot. If the reading is still 0%, enter the BIOS (F2 at startup), let it sit on the battery info screen for 60 seconds, then reboot — this forces the BIOS to re-query the pack's EEPROM and re-establish the state-of-charge baseline.
The ENVY 16 system info shows the wrong Wh rating — it says something different from the 82.58Wh spec on this battery. Is the cell faulty?
The Wh figure displayed in Windows or HP Support Assistant pulls from the EEPROM's rated value field, which can differ from the actual measured chemistry of a replacement cell. This is a data mismatch, not a capacity defect. Run two full charge-discharge cycles and the fuel gauge IC will recalculate the Wh figure against real-world cell behaviour. After calibration, the displayed value will settle closer to the actual 82.58Wh rating of this pack.
New battery charges to 100% once, then HP ENVY 16 stops charging above 80% on every subsequent cycle — did something break?
This is the HP Battery Care function activating through BIOS firmware — it caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress when the laptop is frequently plugged in. It is not a fault with the replacement pack. Open HP Support Assistant, navigate to Battery settings, and toggle Battery Care off, or press Fn + F7 (on most ENVY 16 models) to cycle through the charge limit modes until the 100% option is selected.
