Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Mini 210 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HSTNN-LB0P)
This is a 10.8V, 2200mAh Li-ion battery for the HP Mini 210 netbook line. It fits the Mini 210, Mini 210-1022TU, Mini 210-1010NR, Mini 210-1085NR, and over 229 additional Mini 210 variants. The OEM part number is HSTNN-LB0P, cross-referencing 582213-421, 590543-001, HSTNN-IB0P, HSTNN-DB0P, and related part strings.
- Mini 210 platform compatibility: Every Mini 210 variant on this list shares the same 10.8V three-cell architecture and connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is consistent across the entire Mini 210 series, so the same cell works across all listed models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Mini 210-1010NR. The BMS negotiated charge correctly at 10.8V, accepted a full charge cycle without current-limiting prematurely, and discharged to the low-voltage cutoff without tripping the protection circuit unexpectedly.
- First-cycle calibration on the Mini 210: After installation, run the battery down until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. This gives the Mini 210's fuel gauge IC a clean baseline against the new cell and prevents the false "poor health" flag that appears in HP Support Assistant after every cell swap.
Why the Mini 210 shuts down at 20–30% remaining
The Mini 210's BIOS reads cell voltage, not just state-of-charge percentage. When the CPU and display draw full load simultaneously, a degraded or uncalibrated cell experiences a sharp voltage sag. If that sag drops below the BIOS cutoff threshold — even briefly — the laptop interprets it as a dead battery and shuts down immediately. This happens even when the OS gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle resets the learn table and gives the BIOS an accurate voltage-to-capacity map for the new cell.
BIOS reporting wrong Wh rating after battery swap
The Mini 210's BIOS reads Wh data from the battery's EEPROM chip, not from live cell measurements. The EEPROM on a replacement cell is programmed to the rated chemistry specification, which may differ slightly from what HP Support Assistant or HWiNFO displays from the old cell's learned data. This is an EEPROM read — not a capacity defect. To confirm the cell is performing correctly, check the voltage under load using HWiNFO64 and confirm it holds above 10.4V at 50% discharge.

Frequently Asked Questions
HP Support Assistant says my new Mini 210 battery is in "poor health" right after I installed it — is the cell faulty?
No — this is an EEPROM data mismatch. The Mini 210's BIOS compares the new cell's EEPROM values against the learned discharge history stored from your old battery, and flags the difference as degradation. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false health warning.
The Mini 210's battery percentage jumps around wildly for the first few uses — it reads 60%, then suddenly 15%, then back up.
The fuel gauge IC inside the Mini 210 calibrates its state-of-charge model against actual cell behaviour over a few cycles. With a new cell, the IC has no discharge curve data yet, so its estimates are inaccurate until it builds one. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted full charges. After that, the gauge stabilises and tracks accurately.
My Mini 210 charges fine but stops at exactly 80% and won't go higher — the charger light stays green.
Some Mini 210 units ship with HP's adaptive battery charge firmware active, which caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during prolonged AC use. This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit — not a fault with the cell. Go into HP BIOS Setup (F10 at boot), locate the Battery Care Function or Adaptive Charging setting, and disable it. The battery will then charge to 100%.
