Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 16ABR8 — 15.36V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L22C4PA5)
This 15.36V, 4800mAh (73.73Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 16ABR8 series. It fits the 82XG variant across all regional SKUs and matches the original connector, dimensions, and BMS handshake. OEM part numbers covered include L22C4PA5, L22D4PA5, L22M4PA5, 5B11K39349, and over a dozen related sub-part codes.
- IdeaPad Slim 5 16ABR8 series fit: All 82XG sub-variants share the same 15.36V four-cell rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — which is why one cell covers 230-plus regional configurations without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an 82XG board and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake on first boot, reported correct voltage, and accepted a full charge without triggering overvoltage cutoff.
- Post-install discharge cycle: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS to complete its battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The IdeaPad Slim 5 uses an embedded controller that stores charge history from the previous cell in EEPROM. When a new cell is installed, that stored data no longer matches actual cell behaviour, so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS battery learn routine will overwrite the stale EEPROM data and the health warning will clear on the next boot.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell and has not yet mapped the new cell's actual voltage curve. Under combined CPU and display load, the new cell hits a voltage point the IC interprets as critically low — triggering shutdown well above actual depletion. Run two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell's chemistry. After calibration, the laptop should sustain operation down to the intended 3.2V per-cell cutoff before shutting down.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IdeaPad Slim 5 shows 0% or "battery unknown" right after I put in a new cell — is it dead?
It is not dead. The Lenovo embedded controller reads EEPROM data written by the old cell, and a brand-new cell has no matching history, so the OS reports 0% or unknown until the controller builds a new profile. Plug in the charger, let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge to hibernate-cutoff once. After that full learn cycle the fuel gauge will display the correct state of charge.
Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating in Device Manager — it says 57Wh but the cell is rated 73.73Wh. Why?
The Wh value shown in Device Manager is pulled from the EEPROM on the cell itself, and the stored design-capacity figure can differ from the rated chemistry capacity depending on which sub-part code is embedded. This is a reporting discrepancy, not a capacity defect. Run two full discharge-and-charge cycles and the Windows battery report will recalculate full-charge capacity from measured data rather than the EEPROM figure, giving a more accurate reading.
The new battery charges to exactly 80% then stops — is the cell faulty?
No. Lenovo's BIOS includes a charge threshold feature called Conservation Mode, which caps charging at 60% or 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. It is enabled either through Lenovo Vantage software or via a BIOS setting, and it overrides the charger regardless of which cell is installed. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power, find Battery Charge Threshold, and set the upper limit to 100% to restore full charging.
