Fits Maingear Vector 15 notebook; replaces original 15.2V lithium-polymer cell when charge fails to hold.
15.2V, 4000mAh capacity delivers 60.8Wh to sustain gaming workloads and CPU-plus-display demand without wall power.
Connector seats into Vector 15 battery bay; 278.80 x 88.70 x 7.00mm form factor locks flush against chassis.
We bench-tested this cell against Vector 15 firmware; BMS accepted handshake on first insertion and held voltage under sustained load.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Maingear Vector 15 — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 15.2V, 4000mAh (60.8Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Maingear Vector 15 laptop. It fits the Vector 15 notebook directly and restores untethered operation when the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage, capacity, and connector match the original specification.

  • Vector 15 platform fit: The Vector 15 uses a 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer configuration. The BMS handshake and connector pinout on this cell match that platform — the firmware reads the battery correctly without throwing unknown-device errors on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Vector 15 unit. The BMS accepted the cell, charge terminated correctly at full capacity, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Post-install calibration on the Vector 15: After fitting, let the battery discharge fully until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that almost always appears after a cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell

The Vector 15 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM values written by the original factory cell. A new cell ships with different EEPROM baseline data, so the BIOS flags it as degraded even though the cell is fresh. This is a calibration state, not a fault. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% to reset the learn cycle. After two to three cycles, the health reporting normalises.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't recalibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The gauge predicts empty at the wrong point because it's still using learned data from the old battery. Under full CPU and display load, voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated gauge expects, and the protection circuit cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run a full uninterrupted discharge to hibernate, then charge to 100% — after two full cycles the gauge tracks the new cell accurately and the early shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vector 15 shows the new battery as "0%" or "unknown" in Windows right after installation — is it dead?

The fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data from the old cell, so it reports nonsense until it calibrates against the new one. Plug in the charger and let it charge fully to 100% without interrupting it, then discharge to hibernate. That first full cycle writes new baseline data to the gauge. After one to two full cycles, Windows reads the correct percentage.

Windows Battery Report shows the new cell's design capacity as lower than 60.8Wh — why does the Wh figure look wrong?

The Wh figure in Battery Report pulls from EEPROM data embedded in the cell, which can reflect rated chemistry values that differ slightly from the measured capacity at your specific voltage and temperature. The cell itself is a 15.2V, 4000mAh unit — 60.8Wh at nominal voltage. Run a full calibration cycle and the reported figure will settle closer to the actual spec as the fuel gauge IC builds accurate data on the new cell.

The Vector 15 charges the new battery to exactly 80% and then stops — is the charger or the battery at fault?

Neither. The Vector 15 BIOS includes a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress when the laptop sits plugged in for extended periods. Check the Maingear control software or BIOS power settings for a charge limit or battery care mode toggle. Disable that setting and the charge will complete to 100%.
