Fits CHI Escape GF7054 cordless hair straightener; replaces OEM INR18650 2S1P battery pack.
7.4V 2200mAh delivers sustained heat output for full styling sessions without voltage sag under motor load.
Cylindrical INR18650 cell configuration slides into the cordless handle cartridge; polarity marked on contact terminals.
Bench testing showed stable voltage delivery across discharge cycles; BMS protection engages at cutoff without premature shutdown.
Dry the charging port fully after use near water—moisture bridging the contacts triggers a BMS protection fault that stops charging until contacts are clean and dry.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CHI Escape GF7054 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650 2S1P)

This 7.4V 2200mAh lithium-ion battery fits the CHI Escape GF7054 cordless hair straightener. It uses a 2S1P INR18650 cell configuration — two 18650 cells in series — to hit the 7.4V nominal rail the heating element and control board require. Swap it in when the original no longer holds a charge or the straightener cuts out before styling is done.

  • GF7054 cell format: The 2S1P layout is dictated by the GF7054's voltage rail and the physical cavity inside the handle. Both cells must match in capacity and internal resistance — a mismatched pair causes one cell to overdischarge while the other stays high, which triggers BMS cutoff mid-use.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated heat-up loads on the GF7054 board. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and high-temp charge inhibit — no false trips under normal styling loads.
  • Heating plate warm-up and battery draw: The GF7054 draws its highest current in the first 20–30 seconds when the plates ramp to temperature. Avoid switching the unit on and off repeatedly in quick succession — each cold start pulls peak current and accelerates cell wear faster than continuous use does.

Why the GF7054 shuts off before the battery indicator hits low

The heating element pulls a sharp current spike every time the plates cycle to maintain temperature. If the cells have aged or capacity has faded, internal resistance rises. That resistance causes a momentary voltage sag under load — enough to cross the BMS undervoltage threshold even when the indicator still reads mid-charge. The fix is a full charge followed by a full discharge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate to the new cell's actual capacity.

GF7054 shows no charge after use near a sink or bathroom steam

Moisture on the charging contacts or inside the port triggers a BMS protection fault that blocks charging entirely — the device reads as dead rather than wet. Remove the battery, leave the port open and face-down in a dry room for at least two hours. Reconnect only when the contacts are fully dry. If the fault persists after drying, check contact voltage with a multimeter — it should read 0V at the port pins while the BMS protection latch is active, and recover to 8.4V once cleared.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CHI Escape GF7054 cuts out mid-straighten but the battery light isn't on low — why?

High current draw from the heating plates causes a voltage sag inside aging cells. Even with capacity remaining, internal resistance drops the pack voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold for a split second — the unit shuts off as a protection response. Install the new battery and run one full charge-to-discharge cycle so the fuel gauge calibrates correctly to the replacement cells' actual capacity.

The GF7054 won't charge at all after I used it in a steamy bathroom — is the battery dead?

Moisture bridging the charging contacts triggers a BMS protection fault that locks out charging entirely. It reads exactly like a dead battery, but it's usually a protection latch, not a failed pack. Leave the port open and face-down in a dry room for two or more hours, then reconnect the charger. If it still won't charge, check that the contact pins read 0V — the latch is still active — and try a dry cotton swab on the port contacts before reconnecting.

After weeks of daily top-up charges on my GF7054, the battery seems to drain much faster — what happened?

Frequent partial charges without full discharge cycles cause gauge drift — the BMS loses track of the true top and bottom of the cell capacity window. Over time the usable range narrows and the straightener behaves as if the battery is nearly empty when it isn't. Charge the replacement pack to full, use the straightener until the low-battery indicator trips, then charge fully again — repeat this two or three times to anchor the BMS to the correct capacity endpoints.
