Fits AEG MC-BS12CA cordless drills and impact drivers; replaces OEM part BS12CA.
12V, 3000mAh capacity delivers steady voltage under sustained drilling and fastening loads.
Slide-on connector with positive-lock tab seats flush into AEG's 12-volt tool platform.
We ran this pack through motor-start inrush cycles on a drill chuck load; BMS held steady at trigger pull and thermal cutoff engaged only after sustained full-torque operation.
On first use with this pack, run the tool at half load for two cycles before maximum torque applications — allows the BMS to profile motor inrush current draw before setting overcurrent protection thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG MC-BS12CA — 12V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BS12CA)

This is a 12V Li-ion battery rated at 3000mAh (36Wh), built to fit AEG's MC-BS12CA cordless tool platform. It slots into AEG 12V drills, impact drivers, and other handheld tools that take the BS12CA pack. The connector and BMS handshake match the original AEG pack exactly.

  • AEG 12V platform fit: These tools share a common 12V rail, a fixed terminal layout, and a BMS communication protocol that the charger checks before accepting a charge cycle. A pack that doesn't match that handshake won't charge — this one does.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through simulated motor-start inrush cycles on a 12V drill platform. The BMS held through repeated trigger pulls without tripping the overcurrent cutoff and balanced the cells correctly across charge cycles.
  • First-use load cycling on AEG 12V tools: Run the tool at half load for two cycles before pushing to maximum torque. This lets the BMS log motor inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent thresholds before heavy application.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush in AEG 12V drills

When a 12V drill motor starts under load, the inrush current spike can hit three to five times the running current in the first milliseconds. A fresh or degraded pack with a sensitive BMS threshold will trip the overcurrent protection at that spike and shut the tool down instantly. The fix is to start with no load on the bit — let the motor spin up unloaded, then apply pressure. After two or three normal cycles, the BMS recalibrates its threshold and handles loaded starts without cutting out.

Charger won't recognise the new pack after storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during shipping and storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, most AEG chargers refuse to enter the charge cycle — the indicator blinks or shows a fault instead of charging. Place the pack in the charger and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without removing it; many chargers include a recovery trickle that slowly raises cell voltage back above the acceptance threshold. If the charger still won't engage after 30 minutes, check that the terminal contacts on the pack are clean and seated fully in the charger bay.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AEG drill cuts out the instant I pull the trigger under load — why?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by motor-start inrush. The current spike when a loaded motor starts can briefly exceed the BMS protection threshold, causing an immediate shutoff. Start the drill unloaded — let the bit spin freely — then apply pressure gradually. After two or three cycles this way, the BMS recalibrates and handles loaded starts normally.

The tool runs fine for a few seconds then bogs down and feels weak — is that the battery?

That's voltage sag, not a dead pack. Under sustained load, internal cell resistance causes the voltage rail to drop, and the tool loses torque as a result. First, clean the battery terminals and the tool's contact points with a dry cloth — oxidised contacts increase resistance and make sag worse. If sag persists after cleaning, the cells themselves are losing capacity from repeated shallow cycling; a full discharge followed by a full charge can help the BMS recalibrate the state-of-charge curve.

The pack works fine indoors but loses power fast when I use the drill outside in winter — normal?

Yes — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver and causes early voltage cutoff. Keep the battery in a jacket pocket or indoors until just before use. If the pack has been sitting in a cold van, bring it to room temperature for at least 15 minutes before inserting it into the tool — that alone recovers most of the lost output.
