Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AS-Schwabe Handlampe EVO3 / Lichtfabrik LED — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 7.4V, 2200mAh (16.28Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the AS-Schwabe Handlampe EVO3 and Lichtfabrik LED work lights. Both models run the same 7.4V cell stack with a shared connector footprint and BMS protocol. When the stock battery no longer holds a useful charge, this is the direct cell replacement to restore the lamp to full output.
- EVO3 and Lichtfabrik LED platform: Both lamps share the same battery bay dimensions and 7.4V nominal rail. The BMS handshake on each uses the same thermistor pin, so the protection circuit communicates charge state identically across both models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a controlled load bench at the lamp's rated draw. The BMS held its overcurrent threshold through repeated high-brightness mode switching without triggering a protection cutoff.
- High-brightness mode thermal load: Running the EVO3 at full LED output in an enclosed space generates more heat in the battery bay than intermittent use does. Allow the lamp to cool for five minutes after sustained full-brightness sessions before recharging — this keeps cell temperature within the BMS charge-acceptance window.
Why the EVO3 dims suddenly at high-brightness mode without warning
The EVO3's BMS monitors cell voltage under load. When an aging or deeply discharged cell drops below roughly 3.0V per cell (6.0V total at the pack terminals), the protection circuit throttles output before a hard cutoff. This shows up as sudden dimming rather than an abrupt shutdown. A fresh 2200mAh pack recovers this headroom and keeps the BMS away from the low-voltage threshold during full-output use.
Charger LED stays red and never transitions to green on a new pack
This happens when the pack has sat in storage long enough for cell voltage to fall below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically under 5.5V on a 7.4V pack. The charger reads the low voltage as a fault condition and refuses to enter CC mode. Some AS-Schwabe chargers support a recovery or "boost" trickle phase; leave the pack connected for 15–20 minutes and the charger will often re-check the pack voltage and transition. If the LED stays red past 30 minutes, measure pack terminal voltage — anything above 5.0V means the charger should eventually accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions
The EVO3 cuts out instantly the moment I switch it to maximum brightness — is this the battery failing or the lamp?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a lamp fault. At maximum brightness, LED driver current spikes sharply on switch-on, and an aged or low-capacity pack can't sustain the instantaneous draw — the BMS cuts power to protect the cells. A replacement 2200mAh pack raises the available current headroom and clears the threshold. If the new pack still cuts out at max brightness, check the battery bay contacts for oxidation and clean them with a dry cloth before ruling out the lamp driver.
My EVO3 runs fine for a few minutes then gets noticeably dimmer even though the charge indicator still shows full — what's happening?
This is voltage sag caused by rising internal resistance in the cell stack. As cells age, resistance increases under sustained load, pulling the terminal voltage down even when resting voltage looks healthy. The lamp's driver drops output when pack voltage sags below its regulation floor, which reads as dimming. Replacing the pack restores low internal resistance — confirm the fix by running max brightness and watching for stable output past the five-minute mark.
The lamp worked fine in summer but now barely lights up in my cold garage — is the battery dead?
Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which cuts available current and causes the BMS to see a stressed pack faster than it would at room temperature. The battery is not necessarily dead — warm it to above 10°C before use (inside a jacket pocket for ten minutes works) and test again. If full output returns at room temperature, the cells are still serviceable. If output stays weak even when warm, internal resistance has degraded permanently and replacement is the correct step.
