Fits Bosch VPE-2 cordless drill and replaces OEM part numbers 2 607 335 210, 2 607 335 246, 2 607 335 252, 2 610 995 883, 2 607 335 160, BAT013, and BAT015.
14.4V Ni-MH chemistry with 1500mAh capacity delivers sustained torque on drilling and fastening tasks without voltage sag during motor load.
Connector slides into the VPE-2 battery slot with a positive lock tab that seats flush and prevents accidental ejection under vibration.
We bench-tested this cell on the VPE-2 motor load — the Ni-MH pack held voltage flat through trigger-pull inrush and sustained drilling cycles.
On first use with the VPE-2, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before full-torque fastening — allows the tool's thermal cutoff to learn the motor current signature and prevent nuisance shutdown under heavy load.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch VPE-2 — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (2 607 335 210)

This is a 14.4V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Bosch VPE-2 cordless power tool. It replaces OEM part numbers including 2 607 335 210, BAT013, BAT015, and 2 610 995 883. The battery slots into the same bay as the original and connects through the same multi-pin terminal block.

  • VPE-2 and BAT013/BAT015 platform: These models share a 14.4V battery rail with an identical connector footprint and the same BMS communication protocol. One pack covers the full compatibility group without any adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under simulated drill loads and confirmed the BMS handles inrush current correctly at trigger pull without tripping overcurrent protection. Cell voltage held steady across full discharge.
  • Motor-load conditioning on first use: On first use, run the VPE-2 at half load for two cycles before applying maximum torque. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush profile and calibrate its overcurrent threshold before you put the tool under full stress.

BMS cutoff on VPE-2 motor-start inrush surge

When you pull the trigger on the VPE-2, the motor draws a spike of current well above its running draw — often three to five times higher in the first millisecond. A Ni-MH pack that has been in storage has elevated internal resistance, which amplifies the voltage dip at the cell terminals. If the BMS reads that dip as an overcurrent event, it cuts the output rail before the motor even spins. Running two gentle break-in cycles first lowers internal resistance and lets the BMS set a more accurate trip threshold.

Charger blinks red and won't accept the new pack

Bosch 14.4V chargers run a pre-charge handshake — if the pack voltage sits below roughly 10V after storage, the charger rejects it rather than entering bulk charge mode. This is a self-protection circuit, not a sign the battery is faulty. Leave the pack connected to the charger for 10–15 minutes; some chargers trickle a small current during this window to bring cells up to the acceptance threshold. Once the pack reads above 10.5V across the terminals, the charger steps into normal charge mode and the indicator shifts to amber or green.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bosch VPE-2 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — why does it keep tripping?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by motor-start inrush current hitting cells with high internal resistance, usually after a period of storage. The voltage at the cell terminals sags sharply in that first millisecond, and the BMS reads it as a fault. Charge the pack fully, then run two light-load cycles before attempting full torque. After conditioning, internal resistance drops and the BMS sets a more accurate trip threshold — the cutout stops.

The VPE-2 feels weak under load and bogs down mid-hole — is the battery the problem?

Bogging under sustained load points to voltage sag, not a capacity issue. Ni-MH cells lose voltage faster than rated when cell resistance creeps up through repeated shallow cycling — stopping at 50% charge instead of running to full discharge is the main cause. Check the battery rail contacts on both the tool and the pack for oxidation; even light corrosion adds resistance and worsens sag. Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser, then fully discharge and fully recharge the pack twice to recondition the cells.

The VPE-2 battery drains much faster in cold weather than it did indoors — is the pack failing?

Cold weather raises the internal resistance of Ni-MH cells, which reduces the usable capacity you get per charge at low temperatures — this is normal chemistry behaviour, not early pack failure. Below about 5°C, you can expect noticeably shorter run periods compared to room temperature use. Warm the pack to room temperature before use whenever possible; storing it inside and fitting it to the tool just before you start is enough. Capacity returns to normal figures once the cells are back above 10°C.
