Fits Dremel MM20V, MM20V-02, and US20V models; replaces OEM part F013CM2000.
20V Li-ion at 2000mAh delivers stable voltage under rotary tool load without sag.
Connector type matches Dremel slide-lock housing — seat until the tab clicks fully.
Bench testing on MM20V showed steady discharge curve under continuous grinding; no early BMS cutoff.
On first use, run the tool at half speed for two cycles before full-load grinding — lets the BMS learn motor inrush current before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dremel MM20V Series — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (F013CM2000)

This is a 20V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 2000mAh (40Wh), built to OEM part number F013CM2000. It fits the Dremel MM20V, MM20V-02, and US20V cordless oscillating multi-tool platforms. Swap it when the original pack no longer holds charge or when a second battery keeps a project moving without stopping to wait on the charger.

  • MM20V and US20V platform fit: The MM20V, MM20V-02, and US20V share the same 20V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers all three without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start inrush events on the MM20V platform. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold across cold starts and sustained cutting runs without tripping.
  • Break-in on oscillating tools: On first use, run the multi-tool at half speed through two full work cycles before pushing maximum load. This lets the BMS log the motor inrush profile and calibrate overcurrent thresholds before you stress the pack with heavy grinding or metal cutting.

BMS cutoff on trigger pull during motor-start inrush

The MM20V motor draws a sharp inrush current spike the instant the trigger fires — this spike can exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold on a new or cold pack and cause an immediate shutdown. A new battery hasn't yet logged an inrush profile, so its protection circuit defaults to a conservative cutoff limit. Running the tool at moderate speed for the first two cycles teaches the BMS the actual motor load curve. After that, full-speed starts on wood, metal, or grout clear the overcurrent window without tripping.

Charger blinking red on a new pack pulled from storage

Dremel chargers use a handshake voltage check before entering bulk charge mode — if the pack has self-discharged below roughly 12V during storage, the charger refuses to engage and blinks red. This is a protection state, not a dead battery. Place the pack in the charger, wait 10–15 minutes, and remove it; repeat two or three times to let the charger attempt a trickle pre-charge pulse. Once cell voltage climbs above the acceptance threshold (typically 14–15V on a 20V pack), the charger locks on and charges normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MM20V cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on thick material — what's happening?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the motor-start inrush spike on a new or cold pack. The protection circuit hasn't yet profiled your motor's load curve, so it defaults to a tight cutoff threshold. Run the tool at half speed through two light work cycles to let the BMS calibrate. After that, full-load trigger pulls on dense wood or metal should clear without shutdown.

The tool runs but feels weak and bogs down under sustained grinding — battery or tool?

That's voltage sag — check the battery contact rails on the pack and tool base first. Corrosion or debris on the contact pads raises resistance, which drops the voltage at the motor under load. Clean the contacts on both the pack and the tool with a dry cloth or fine abrasive, then re-seat the pack firmly until it clicks. If the bog persists after cleaning, test with a second pack to isolate whether the fault is in the cell or the tool's motor brushes.

This battery barely performs in my cold garage — is something wrong with the pack?

Nothing is wrong. Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver and cuts effective output at the motor. Bring the battery indoors to 18–20°C for 30 minutes before starting work in a cold environment. Once the cells warm up through normal use, performance recovers — a 20V pack typically returns to full rail voltage within the first few minutes of light-load operation.
