This is a 12V Ni-MH battery pack rated at 3300mAh (39.6Wh) for the Festool C12 cordless tool platform. It fits the C12, C12LI, and associated model numbers including 564247 and 497019. The pack slots directly into C12-series compact drills, drivers, and light-duty saws.

• C12 platform compatibility: The C12 and C12LI share the same 12V battery bay, contact layout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack covers both variants without any hardware modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge-discharge cycles on a C12 drill. The BMS held stable across repeated trigger-pull inrush events and flagged no overcurrent faults during normal drilling loads.
• Break-in cycling on the C12: Run the drill at half-load torque settings for the first two cycles before pushing full torque applications. This gives the BMS time to profile the motor's inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent protection thresholds before hard use begins.

BMS cutoff on C12 motor-start inrush surge

Triggering a C12 drill under load pulls a short inrush spike that can be several times the steady-state current draw. On a new or cold pack, the BMS overcurrent threshold may not yet have a calibrated baseline for the motor's specific draw pattern. If the BMS trips, the tool cuts out immediately at trigger pull rather than running weak. One or two partial-load cycles resets the BMS profile and eliminates nuisance trips on normal use.

C12 charger not initiating charge on a new pack from storage

Ni-MH packs that have sat in storage can self-discharge below the voltage floor that the Festool C12 charger requires before it will begin a charge cycle. The charger may show no response or a fault indicator instead of a normal charge sequence. To recover the pack, place it in the charger and leave it connected for up to 15 minutes — most C12 chargers include a trickle pre-charge mode that will slowly bring the cell voltage up to the acceptance threshold. If the charger still does not initiate after 15 minutes, check that cell voltage is above 8.4V with a multimeter before proceeding.
