Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Geberit ACO 202 / 203 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 18V 2000mAh (36Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Geberit ACO 202, 203, 203plus, and 203XL cordless tools. It slots into the same battery bay as the original pack and runs on the same 18V rail. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 2000mAh.

  • ACO 202, 203, 203plus, 203XL platform fit: These models share a common 18V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement pack covers the full range without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-start inrush loads. The BMS handled trigger-pull current spikes without nuisance tripping and maintained stable voltage delivery across discharge cycles.
  • Break-in load cycle: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before maximum torque applications. This lets the BMS log the motor inrush current profile and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before full-load work begins.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge with the ACO 203 series

When you pull the trigger on a drill or fastening tool, the motor draws a sharp current spike before it reaches running speed. On the ACO 203 platform, that inrush can exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold if the pack cells are cold or the contacts have surface oxidation. The BMS then cuts output as a protection response — the tool stops immediately, even with charge remaining. Clean the battery contacts with a dry cloth, warm the pack to above 10°C, and avoid full-torque trigger pulls for the first two cycles on a new or storage-recovered battery.

Charger won't recognise the pack after extended storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge over time. If the pack sits unused long enough, cell voltage drops below the threshold most chargers use to confirm a valid battery — typically around 2.5V per cell. The charger sees an out-of-range reading and refuses to begin the charge cycle, often signalling with a blinking red LED or no response at all. Some Geberit-compatible chargers include a recovery or conditioning mode — engage that first. If not available, a brief trickle from a compatible lab supply at 0.1C for 10–15 minutes can bring cells back above the 2.5V-per-cell acceptance floor before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ACO 203 cuts out instantly the moment I pull the trigger — still shows charge on the indicator. What's happening?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the motor-start inrush spike, not a dead cell. The current surge at trigger pull briefly exceeds the BMS protection threshold, so it shuts output before the motor reaches running speed. It happens most often when the pack is cold or the rail contacts have oxidation adding resistance. Clean the contacts, bring the pack above 10°C, and ease into full-torque pulls for the first two cycles.

The tool runs fine for the first few seconds then bogs down and feels weak under load — battery isn't flat. What's causing it?

Voltage sag under sustained load. When the motor draws continuous current — especially during prolonged fastening or drilling through hard material — cell internal resistance causes the pack voltage to drop below the tool's operating threshold. The ACO platform then reduces output to protect the motor drive circuit. Check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully, since high contact resistance makes sag worse. If sag persists on a new pack, allow a full discharge-to-cutoff and full recharge cycle to let the BMS recalibrate its state-of-charge mapping.

I left the battery in the van overnight in winter and now it barely drives screws before fading. Is the pack damaged?

Not necessarily damaged — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces available current and causes early voltage sag. The pack reads as charged but can't deliver full current into a cold motor load. Bring the battery to room temperature (above 15°C) for at least 30 minutes before use. If full performance returns after warming, the cells are fine. If capacity remains noticeably reduced after several warm charge-discharge cycles, the cells may have sustained partial lithium plating from being discharged under heavy load while cold — at that point, replace the pack.
