Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wurth H 28-MA Series — 28V Li-ion Replacement Battery (0700 956 730)
This 28V 6000mAh (168Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on the Wurth H 28-MA, BS 28-A Combi, Master 28V, and Master H 28-MA cordless tools. It uses the same voltage rail and connector as the OEM pack. The BMS matches the communication protocol the Wurth charger expects, so the charger reads the pack as valid on insertion.
- H 28-MA and BS 28-A Combi compatibility: These models share the same 28V rail, physical slide connector, and BMS handshake sequence. One battery pack crosses all four listed models without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated high-torque trigger pulls on a 28V platform. The BMS handled the motor-start inrush current without nuisance tripping and recovered cell voltage cleanly between draws.
- Motor inrush conditioning on first use: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before you push the tool to maximum demand.
BMS cutoff on trigger-pull inrush surge in the H 28-MA
The H 28-MA draws a sharp current spike the instant the motor starts — this inrush can be four to six times the running current. If the BMS overcurrent threshold is set low or the cells are cold, it reads that spike as a fault and cuts the output immediately. A new pack from storage may trip on the first hard pull because the BMS hasn't yet profiled the load. Two half-load warm-up cycles calibrate the threshold and stop nuisance cutoffs.
Tool bogs and loses torque mid-cut under sustained load
If the tool slows or bogs during extended drilling or driving rather than cutting out instantly, the cause is voltage sag under sustained draw — not a BMS trip. High contact resistance at the battery rail is the first thing to check: oxidised or dirty slide contacts limit current delivery and drop the voltage the motor actually sees. Clean the battery and tool contacts with isopropyl alcohol, then test. If sag continues with clean contacts, check that the pack is at or above 25V resting voltage before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Wurth 28V charger blinks red when I insert the new battery — what's wrong?
A new pack shipped from storage can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold voltage, typically around 20–22V on a 28V system. The charger sees the low cell voltage and flags it as a fault rather than starting a charge cycle. To recover the pack, some Wurth chargers have a wake-up or recovery mode — hold the battery in the dock for 60 seconds without removing it and the charger will attempt a trickle charge to bring cells up to acceptance voltage. If the light shifts to solid or pulsing green within a few minutes, the pack is charging normally.
The drill cuts out immediately every time I pull the trigger hard — is the battery faulty?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by motor-start inrush current, not a defective cell. The H 28-MA's motor pulls a high spike on startup, and a BMS that hasn't profiled the load yet will cut output before the motor reaches running speed. Re-insert the battery to reset the BMS, then make two or three trigger pulls at half pressure before going to full torque. Once the BMS logs those lower-inrush cycles, it sets a more accurate overcurrent threshold and the cutout stops.
The tool performs noticeably worse in cold weather on a jobsite — is this a battery problem?
Yes — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, and the 28V pack is no exception. Higher internal resistance means more voltage is lost inside the battery under load, so the motor receives less voltage and produces less torque. Store the battery inside or in a vehicle cab overnight rather than leaving it in an unheated van or site box. Bring the pack to at least 10°C before use and you'll recover most of the lost output.
