Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Compustar Pro RFX T2 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (JHY442027)

This is a 3.7V, 150mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Compustar Pro RFX T2 wireless remote transmitter. It fits the Pro RFX T2, Pro RFX-P2WT12, RFX-P2WT12-SS, and P2WT11-SS remotes, along with additional models in the same family. When the original cell loses charge capacity, this replacement restores full remote start and keyless entry function.

  • Pro RFX platform compatibility: These remotes share the same compact Li-Polymer cell format, 3.7V supply rail, and JHY442027 footprint across the lineup. The BMS on each unit uses the same charge termination logic, so one cell spec covers the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Pro RFX platform and confirmed the BMS accepted charge termination cleanly at 4.2V, with no false over-voltage flags or cutoff errors during draw.
  • Re-sync after power interruption: Swapping the battery cuts power to the remote's memory. The Pro RFX T2 requires a programming sequence to re-pair with the control module — follow the Compustar sync procedure specific to your installed firmware version before testing range.

Remote start not activating after battery swap

Replacing the battery clears the remote's stored pairing data. The control module no longer recognises the transmitter until the sync sequence is completed. On most Compustar Pro RFX installations, this means entering the module's programming mode via the vehicle's ignition cycle and pressing the remote button within the pairing window. Check your installer's configuration sheet for the exact step count — sequence length varies by firmware.

Reduced transmission range in the first few uses

A fresh Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage, typically around 3.6V — below the 3.7V nominal operating point. At that voltage, transmit power from the RF module is slightly reduced, which shortens effective range. After two or three full charge cycles, the cell reaches stable operating voltage and range returns to normal. Charge the remote fully before testing range — measure improvement after the second full charge, not the first.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Compustar Pro RFX T2 remote won't trigger the engine start after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

The battery swap cut power to the remote, which wiped the transmitter's pairing data. The control module won't respond until the remote is re-synced using Compustar's programming sequence. Enter the module's pairing mode via the vehicle ignition cycle, then press the designated remote button within the pairing window. Sequence length depends on your firmware — check the installer sheet for the exact step count.

My keyless entry buttons stopped responding after the battery swap, but remote start still works — why?

Lock and unlock commands on the Pro RFX platform use a rolling code. A power interruption can desynchronise the keyless entry code sequence from the control module even when the start function re-pairs correctly. Stand within a few metres of the vehicle, then hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for three seconds to trigger a rolling code re-sync. If the module still doesn't respond, repeat the process with the vehicle in close range and the ignition off.

The car alarm went off when I swapped the battery in my Compustar remote — did I do something wrong?

No — this is the control module detecting a tamper event triggered by the loss of remote signal during the swap. The module interprets the sudden drop in paired transmitter presence as a potential security breach and activates the alarm. Disarm it using the system's factory disarm sequence — typically a single press of the unlock button on a second paired remote or a specific ignition cycle defined in your installation guide. Once disarmed, complete the re-sync procedure to restore normal operation.
