Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tondeo ECO XP / ECO XP Profi — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Tondeo ECO XP and ECO XP Profi professional hair clippers. It slots into the clipper housing where the original cell sits and restores full cutting power when the factory battery can no longer hold a usable charge. Dimensions are 45.70 × 33.60 × 18.00mm — confirm these against your original before ordering.
- ECO XP and ECO XP Profi fit: Both models run the same 3.6V single-cell architecture with an identical battery bay footprint and connector orientation. One cell covers both variants — no adapter, no modification required.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the ECO XP platform. The motor drew consistent current across the cycle, and the BMS cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without false triggering under blade load.
- Clipper-specific charge habit: Ni-MH cells in high-use clippers suffer voltage depression when repeatedly topped up after short cuts. Let the clipper run until the indicator drops before recharging — this keeps the cell's capacity reporting accurate and prevents premature cutoff during longer sessions.
Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the ECO XP
Ni-MH cells develop a memory effect when cycled repeatedly over a narrow state-of-charge window. In a busy salon where the clipper gets a quick top-up between every client, the cell gradually loses access to its lower capacity band. The battery indicator still reads full after charging, but the usable window has shrunk — the clipper cuts out well before the indicator hits empty. A full depletion and slow recharge cycle resets this behaviour on a fresh cell; avoid the habit with the replacement from day one.
Motor speed dropping before the indicator shows low
This is voltage sag under blade load, not a dead battery. As a Ni-MH cell ages, its internal resistance rises — under the brief current spike of cutting through thick hair, the voltage drops enough to slow the motor before the BMS registers a low-battery condition. The indicator still shows partial charge because resting voltage recovers quickly between cuts. If the replacement cell shows the same behaviour early in its life, check that the blade tension isn't set too high, which increases motor load and exaggerates sag. A correctly tensioned blade should hold steady motor speed down to approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ECO XP cuts out mid-session but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?
This is voltage sag under motor load, not a faulty indicator. As the cell ages, rising internal resistance causes the terminal voltage to dip below the BMS cutoff threshold during the current spike of cutting, even though resting voltage bounces back fast enough to fool the indicator. A new cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag. If it happens on the replacement cell, check blade tension — over-tight blades spike motor current and make even a healthy cell sag.
The ECO XP stopped charging after I rinsed the blade section — is that a battery fault?
Almost certainly not the battery itself. Moisture bridging the charging contacts triggers a BMS protection trip that the clipper reports as a dead battery rather than a charging error. Dry the contact area thoroughly — a cotton swab in the charging port recess, then 30 minutes open to air — before connecting to the charger again. If charging resumes after drying, the cell is fine. If it still won't charge after the contacts are fully dry, check that the dock pins haven't oxidised; clean them with a dry cloth before replacing the battery.
The ECO XP's charge indicator drifts and no longer matches actual cutting time — can I recalibrate it?
Indicator drift on Ni-MH clippers happens when shallow partial cycles cause the cell's charge state to desync from what the control circuit expects. Run the clipper continuously until it cuts out completely from low voltage, then do a full uninterrupted charge from flat. Do this two or three times on the new replacement cell to anchor the indicator to real capacity. Avoid plugging in for short top-ups after each client — that cycle pattern is what causes the drift to return.
