Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ClareOne CLR-C1-PNL1 Smart Home Panel — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CLR-C1-BATT)

This 3.8V, 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the internal backup cell in the ClareOne Smart Home Panel (CLR-C1-PNL1). It keeps the panel running during mains power outages so security monitoring and emergency alerts stay active. Dimensions are 80.60 × 50.00 × 9.00mm — confirm your existing cell matches before ordering.

  • CLR-C1-PNL1 fit confirmation: The ClareOne panel uses a single lithium-polymer cell at 3.8V with a dedicated BMS that monitors cell state and signals low-battery warnings to the Clare app. This replacement carries the same OEM part number CLR-C1-BATT and matches the voltage rail the panel's BMS expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the ClareOne panel and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held charge correctly, and triggered the panel's backup mode at the expected low-voltage threshold.
  • Post-swap network behaviour: After installing this battery and restoring power, give the panel at least 60 seconds before expecting it to show as online. The ClareOne panel runs a mesh network re-join sequence after any power interruption — cutting that short by checking too early can look like a failed installation when the battery is fine.

Why the ClareOne panel drains this battery faster after a network change

When the panel loses its primary network connection — due to a router change, SSID update, or ISP outage — it increases its polling frequency while trying to reconnect. That elevated polling draws more current from the backup cell than normal standby operation. A battery that looked fine before a network change may now deplete noticeably faster. Restoring a stable network connection returns the panel to its standard low-draw standby mode.

Low battery alert showing immediately after fitting a new cell

If the panel throws a low battery alert within minutes of a new cell being installed, the replacement battery arrived from storage at a voltage below the panel's warning threshold — typically under 3.5V. The BMS reads that as a depleted cell and fires the alert before any charge has occurred. Connect the panel to mains power and allow a full charge cycle to complete. Once the cell climbs above the alert threshold the warning clears automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ClareOne panel went offline after I swapped the battery — did I install it wrong?

Almost certainly not. The panel runs a mesh network re-join sequence every time power is interrupted, and that process takes up to 60 seconds to complete. Wait a full minute after restoring power before checking the Clare app. If the panel is still offline after 60 seconds, check that mains power is properly connected — a panel running on battery alone may drop non-critical network functions to conserve charge.

My new battery is draining much faster than the original did — what is causing that?

The most common cause is a high polling interval triggered by a network issue. When the ClareOne panel cannot reach the Clare cloud service reliably, it increases reconnection attempts and draws more current from the backup cell. Check your router logs for dropped connections and confirm the panel's Wi-Fi credentials are current. Resolving the network issue returns the panel to normal standby draw, and the faster drain stops.

The panel is charged but the Clare app still shows it as disconnected — how do I fix that?

This is a pairing loss, not a battery problem. When the panel loses power during a battery swap, the hub can drop the device from its active device list even though the panel itself is functional. Open the Clare app, navigate to device settings, and run a re-pair for the CLR-C1-PNL1 panel. Once the re-pair completes the panel's status updates and connectivity restores — no factory reset needed.
