Fits Amazfit GTR 3, GTR 3 Pro, A2039, and A2040 watches — replaces OEM part PL582624.
3.87V, 440mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full sensor and display runtime on this platform.
Connector is a two-pin pogo contact; orientation marked on the cell and watch housing.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted charge within two cycles with zero early cutoff.
After fitting the new cell, charge the watch to 100% before first use — the fuel gauge IC cannot recalibrate without a full charge cycle from near-zero after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazfit GTR 3 / GTR 3 Pro — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL582624)

This 3.87V, 440mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original PL582624 battery in the Amazfit GTR 3 and GTR 3 Pro smartwatches (models A2040 and A2039). It restores power to the display, processor, heart rate sensor, GPS, and Bluetooth modules. Fit the new cell when the original no longer holds charge through a full day or swells inside the case.

  • GTR 3 and GTR 3 Pro compatibility: Both watches share the same cell footprint, connector pitch, and BMS handshake protocol. The 23.30 × 25.30 × 5.70mm dimensions match the cavity in both A2040 and A2039 chassis without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the GTR 3 charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, balanced correctly, and reported accurate state-of-charge to the firmware without error flags.
  • Post-swap charge requirement: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use. The fuel gauge IC on the GTR 3 platform cannot calibrate its reference point without a full charge cycle from near-zero following a cell swap.

Why the GTR 3 reports 0% and shuts down immediately after a battery swap

The GTR 3 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state relative to a stored reference. When the cell is disconnected, that reference is lost. The IC sees an uncalibrated cell and defaults to 0%, triggering an immediate low-battery shutdown even if the new cell has a partial charge. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Charge the watch to 100% from this state and the IC resets its reference correctly.

Watch not pairing with the Zepp app after battery replacement

Removing the battery cuts power to the BLE stack entirely, which drops the active pairing session stored on the watch. The phone retains the old session record, but the watch starts fresh with no matching bond key. Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget the GTR 3, then re-pair through the Zepp app from scratch. Do not attempt to reconnect from the Bluetooth menu alone — the Zepp app handshake is required to restore full data sync.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GTR 3 battery drains completely in one day after fitting the new cell — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. In the first few days after a swap, the watch recalibrates its sensor baselines, which keeps the heart rate and SpO2 sensors active longer than usual. Always-on display plus continuous HR monitoring are the two biggest draws on this platform. Check the Zepp app and turn off always-on display if it was re-enabled during the reset. After two or three full charge cycles, drain rate should settle.

The magnetic charger isn't registering on the new battery — the charging indicator never appears.

This is almost always a contact alignment issue, not a cell fault. The back cover can shift fractionally during reassembly, moving the charge contacts away from the magnetic charger's pin centres. Remove the charger, reseat the watch squarely, and confirm the magnets click firmly into position. If the indicator still doesn't appear, inspect the four contact pads on the watch back for debris or flux residue and clean with isopropyl alcohol before reconnecting.

GPS is killing the new battery much faster than my old one did — is the replacement cell underpowered?

The new cell's internal impedance is slightly higher than a broken-in cell, which causes a larger voltage sag when the GPS radio fires up. This is normal and resolves as the cell completes its first few charge cycles. The GTR 3 GPS module draws around 20–25mA continuously — that load profile is the same regardless of which cell is fitted. Run three full charge and discharge cycles and check again; the sag will reduce as the cell's impedance drops toward its rated value.
