Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Marshall Emberton 3 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B0797)
This is a 7.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the Marshall Emberton 3 portable Bluetooth speaker. It replaces OEM part B0797, which powers audio playback and wireless connectivity in the Emberton 3 and Emberton III. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or capacity has dropped noticeably.
- Emberton 3 and Emberton III compatibility: Both the Emberton 3 and Emberton III share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the B0797 cell fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Emberton 3 platform. The BMS accepted the pack without error flags, voltage held steady under combined amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw, and the fuel gauge reported accurately across the full state-of-charge range.
- Monthly discharge cycle for Emberton 3 users: Let the speaker run down below 20% at least once a month before recharging. The Emberton 3 is often kept on a desk and topped off constantly — cycling without a full discharge causes fuel gauge drift, so the indicator reads full while actual capacity has quietly dropped.
Why the Emberton 3 audio drops at high volume even on a fresh charge
At maximum volume the amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously, creating short but sharp load spikes. If the cell's internal resistance has risen — either from age or shallow cycling — voltage sags under that combined draw. The BMS interprets the sag as a low-cell condition and throttles output to protect the cell. Installing a cell with lower internal resistance restores stable voltage delivery under high combined load.
Emberton 3 won't wake from USB-C when the battery is fully flat
When the cell discharges below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters deep-protection mode and disconnects the output rail entirely. In this state the speaker will not respond to a USB-C cable because the charger cannot negotiate PD handshake without a minimum voltage present at the port. Plug the cable in and leave it connected for 10–15 minutes without pressing any button — the BMS needs that window to trickle enough charge back into the cell to exit protection mode and re-enable the USB negotiation circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Emberton 3 shows a full charge indicator but the audio cuts out after about an hour of use — what's happening?
This is fuel gauge drift caused by constant shallow cycling — the battery indicator loses its calibration when the pack is never allowed to discharge below 50% before topping off. The gauge reports full because it lost track of the cell's true capacity, not because the cell is healthy. Run the speaker down below 20% before the next charge to force a recalibration cycle. If the behaviour persists after two or three full cycles, the original cell has faded beyond recovery and needs replacing.
Audio from the Emberton 3 starts distorting and sounds clipped before the battery indicator even reaches the low-battery warning — is the battery causing this?
Yes. As the cell discharges toward the lower end of its voltage range, the amplifier's supply rail drops below the threshold needed for clean output at moderate-to-high volume. The amplifier hits its voltage floor and clips the signal before the BMS triggers the low-battery indicator — so distortion arrives first. This is more pronounced in an aged cell where voltage sags faster under load. Check the resting voltage of the pack with a multimeter; a healthy 7.4V nominal cell at 20% charge should read no lower than approximately 7.0V.
The Emberton 3 gets noticeably warm on the top panel during long play sessions — is the battery overheating?
Heat during extended play comes from two sources stacked in a small enclosure: the amplifier dissipates heat during continuous output, and the cell generates heat as it discharges under load. The fabric housing traps both. The BMS monitors cell temperature and will throttle output if the cell exceeds its thermal threshold, which shows up as unexpected volume reduction rather than a hard cutoff. Keep the speaker on a hard, flat surface during long sessions rather than a soft surface like a couch or bag — blocking the underside venting concentrates heat faster and pushes the cell temperature higher.
