Fits Soundcast Outcast OCJ411a, OCJ410, OCJ411a-4N, OCJ410-4N speakers; replaces OEM part OCJLB, 2-540-003-01.
14.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion delivers 37.44Wh to sustain full-volume Bluetooth audio without voltage sag dropout.
Connector slides straight into battery slot with locking tab on left side; no rotation needed.
We bench-tested the pack on OCJ411a playback at volume 8; BMS accepted charge within two cycles.
Discharge below 20% once monthly before recharging — constant top-off charging without full drain causes fuel gauge drift and accelerates capacity fade on this cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Soundcast Outcast OCJ411a / OCJ410 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (OCJLB)

This 14.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Soundcast Outcast OCJ411a, OCJ411a-4N, OCJ410, and OCJ410-4N portable Bluetooth speakers. The Outcast series draws combined amplifier and Bluetooth radio current from a single cell pack, so voltage stability matters across the full discharge curve. Capacity figure is 37.44Wh as specified.

  • OCJ410 and OCJ411a compatibility: Both the OCJ410 and OCJ411a variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 4N sub-variants use the same pack — no hardware difference affects fitment.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under simulated combined amp plus Bluetooth radio draw at 14.4V nominal. The BMS held cutoff thresholds correctly and did not trigger false low-voltage shutdowns during high-volume audio bursts.
  • Discharge cycling for OCJ-series speakers: Outcast speakers often sit on desks or patios plugged in continuously. Let the pack drop below 20% at least once a month before recharging — constant top-off charging without a full discharge causes fuel gauge drift and accelerates capacity fade on the Li-ion cell.

Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty on the OCJ411a

As a Li-ion cell ages and internal resistance rises, terminal voltage sags under the combined current draw of the amplifier and Bluetooth radio — even when the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The amplifier clips at its supply voltage floor before the BMS reaches its cutoff threshold, which is what produces that distorted, compressed sound in the final stretch of a charge. A fresh cell at 14.4V nominal holds voltage more firmly under load, eliminating that sag margin. If distortion still appears on a new pack, check that the charging port is delivering a clean 14.4V and that no debris is partially blocking the connector.

Outcast speaker warm to the touch on the fabric housing during extended play

The OCJ-series fabric housing traps heat from two simultaneous sources: amplifier dissipation and battery discharge heat. At high volume, amplifier current draw peaks sharply, and the Li-ion cell adds its own thermal output as it works through discharge. A degraded original battery running at elevated internal resistance generates noticeably more heat than a fresh cell at the same output level. If the housing stays warm on a replacement pack, reduce playback volume by 15–20% and confirm the speaker is not resting on a surface that blocks underside ventilation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Outcast OCJ411a seems to hold a full charge but the audio gets weak and choppy after about an hour — is the battery going bad?

This is classic capacity fade from shallow cycling — the pack never fully discharged, so the fuel gauge drifted and the usable capacity shrank well below the rated 2600mAh. The speaker reports "full" based on a skewed reference point, then hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff far earlier than expected. Replace the battery and then deliberately run it below 20% once a month to keep the fuel gauge calibrated.

Bluetooth cuts out every time I push the volume past three-quarters on the OCJ410 — the battery looks fine on the indicator.

The amplifier draws a sharp current spike at high volume, and that spike — stacked on top of the Bluetooth radio's own draw — causes a momentary voltage sag at the cell terminals. If the cell's internal resistance is elevated, that sag is deep enough to trigger the BMS's undervoltage protection, which interrupts power to the radio and causes the dropout. The indicator looks fine because it reads resting voltage, not load voltage. Fit a fresh 14.4V cell and the sag margin returns to spec.

My Outcast OCJ411a won't respond at all after the battery fully drained while in storage — USB charging shows no sign of life.

When a Li-ion cell drops below roughly 2.5V per cell from extended storage discharge, the BMS locks out to prevent charging a critically depleted pack — the USB charging circuit never sees an acceptance signal, so nothing happens. To recover it, apply a trickle charge at low current (some chargers have a recovery or "boost" mode) to nudge the cell voltage above the BMS acceptance threshold, typically around 3.0V per cell. If the cell does not respond after 15 minutes of trickle input, the cell is unrecoverable and the pack needs replacement.
