Fits Teufel ROCKSTER Air 2 portable speaker, replaces OEM part HYY0953059.
12.8V LiFePO4 chemistry delivers 10000mAh capacity—this speaker runs wirelessly on a single charge without mid-session dropouts.
Connector seats vertically into the speaker's battery bay with a single locking tab on the right edge.
We bench-tested this cell on a current-draw profile matching typical Bluetooth audio at mid-to-high volume; BMS handled the combined amplifier and radio load without voltage sag or cutoff.
On first use with the ROCKSTER Air 2, discharge the pack fully before the first recharge—LiFePO4 fuel gauges require a zero-point calibration cycle to report capacity accurately after installation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Teufel ROCKSTER Air 2 — 12.8V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (HYY0953059)

This is a 12.8V, 10000mAh LiFePO4 replacement battery for the Teufel ROCKSTER Air 2 portable Bluetooth speaker. It fits the OEM battery slot directly and matches the original part number HYY0953059. Capacity figure is taken from product data at 128Wh.

  • ROCKSTER Air 2 fit: The ROCKSTER Air 2 runs a 12.8V LiFePO4 pack — the nominal voltage and cell chemistry are specific to this platform. LiFePO4 cells hold a flatter discharge curve than lithium-ion, which keeps the amplifier stage stable at volume. Swapping in a different chemistry or voltage pack risks BMS rejection at the connector handshake.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the ROCKSTER Air 2 platform. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, completed a full charge cycle, and held voltage under sustained high-volume audio draw without triggering thermal cutoff.
  • LiFePO4 cycle care on a portable speaker: LiFePO4 cells are more tolerant of partial charging than lithium-ion, but the ROCKSTER Air 2 fuel gauge can still drift if you never let the pack drop below 40%. Run the speaker down to below 20% at least once a month so the BMS can recalibrate its state-of-charge reading.

Bluetooth dropping at high volume on the ROCKSTER Air 2

At high volume, the amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously. If the battery pack has degraded internal resistance, that combined load pulls cell voltage below the radio's operating floor for a split second. The ROCKSTER Air 2 drops the Bluetooth connection before any low-battery indicator appears. A fresh LiFePO4 pack with lower internal resistance handles the combined amp-plus-radio spike without the voltage sag that kills the link.

Audio distorting before the battery indicator reads empty

This happens when a worn cell can no longer sustain voltage under amplifier load, even though the resting voltage still reads mid-range. The amplifier clips when supply voltage sags, producing audible distortion before the indicator hits empty. It is a cell health symptom, not a speaker fault. Replace the battery and confirm resting voltage sits at or above 13.2V after a full charge — if distortion returns quickly, check the charger output is reaching the correct charge voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ROCKSTER Air 2 shows a full charge but the audio cuts out after about an hour of play — why?

This is fuel gauge drift from shallow cycling. If the speaker is topped off before it drops below 50%, the BMS loses track of true capacity and reports full charge on a pack that has significantly less usable energy. Run the speaker down below 20% before the next charge to force a BMS recalibration. If the problem persists after two or three full cycles, the cell itself has faded and needs replacement.

The ROCKSTER Air 2 won't turn on after sitting unused for several months — is the battery recoverable?

LiFePO4 cells self-discharge slowly, but several months on a shelf can pull the pack below the BMS minimum acceptance voltage — typically under 10V for a 12.8V LiFePO4 pack. At that point the BMS locks out charging as a protection measure and the speaker shows no response at all. Plug it in and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes — some chargers apply a trickle pre-charge below the lockout threshold to bring the cell back into range. If the pack does not respond after an hour on the charger, the cell has deep-discharged past recovery and replacement is the only fix.

The ROCKSTER Air 2 feels noticeably warm through the fabric housing during long outdoor sessions — is that a battery issue?

Some warmth is normal — the amplifier generates heat, and the LiFePO4 pack adds discharge heat inside a sealed enclosure. The concern is when the housing stays hot to the touch after audio stops, which points to the battery discharging at higher current than the cell is rated for, usually combined with a hot ambient environment. Check that the speaker's ventilation areas on the housing are not blocked during play. If warmth continues after the session ends and the speaker is idle, let the pack cool fully before the next charge — charging a hot LiFePO4 cell accelerates capacity fade.
