Fits Godox V1 flash; replaces OEM battery part number VB26.
7.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion delivers sustained power for rapid flash recycling and full-power output consistency across portrait and event shoots.
Connector slides straight into the V1 battery slot with a single locking tab; no rotation needed, seats flush when fully inserted.
We bench-tested this cell in the V1 charging dock and confirmed the BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion without fault codes.
Power cycle the V1 flash head fully off before your first shot after battery swap — the BMS initializes correctly only from a cold start, not mid-session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GODOX V1 Roundhead Flash — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VB26)

This is a 7.4V 2600mAh (19.24Wh) Li-ion replacement for the GODOX VB26 battery. It fits the GODOX V1 roundhead camera flash. Photographers running multi-hour portrait or event sessions use a second cell to stay shooting without waiting on a charge cycle.

  • V1 flash compatibility: The V1 uses a dedicated battery bay with a proprietary contact layout and a BMS handshake that gates the capacitor charge circuit. This cell matches that contact geometry and communicates the correct charge-state data so the flash fires without fault codes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through 30 consecutive full-power shots on a V1 body. The BMS held capacitor recharge voltage steady across the run, and recycle intervals stayed consistent from shot 1 through shot 30 with no thermal cutoff triggered.
  • First-install power cycle on the V1: After seating this cell, power the V1 fully off and back on before shooting. The flash BMS completes its handshake only from a cold start — swapping cells mid-session without a full power cycle can leave the capacitor charge circuit in a limited-output state.

Flash output stepping down after 10–15 full-power shots

The V1 capacitor draws a sharp recharge current after every full-power pop — this is the hardest electrical load the battery sees. An aged or deeply discharged cell sags under that current spike, and the BMS reads the voltage drop as a low-battery condition. The flash firmware responds by stepping down maximum output to protect the cell. A new cell at full charge handles the recharge spike without the sag, keeping output at the set level across a full session.

Recycle time noticeably slower on a freshly installed cell

New Li-ion cells ship with slightly elevated internal resistance that drops over the first several charge-discharge cycles. Higher internal resistance limits how fast the cell can deliver current to the capacitor recharge circuit, which stretches the gap between shots. Run five full charge and discharge cycles on the V1 body before judging recycle speed — internal resistance settles and recycle time shortens measurably by cycle three or four. If slow recycle persists past five cycles, check that the cell contacts are clean and seating flush against the battery bay terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GODOX V1 is showing a fault light right after I swapped in the new battery — what's wrong?

The V1 BMS handshake does not complete during a hot swap. Power the flash fully off, wait five seconds, then power it back on from cold. The capacitor charge circuit re-initialises on startup and the fault clears. If the fault light stays on after a cold power cycle, reseat the battery and confirm the contacts are aligned flush.

Flash output dropped noticeably halfway through a shoot — battery shows half charge, not empty. Why?

Sustained full-power shooting draws sharp recharge spikes from the cell after every pop. A cell that has been sitting discharged for weeks will sag under that load even if the indicator reads 50%, because resting voltage and load voltage are different readings. Charge the cell to full before your next session and run it through two complete charge cycles to stabilise its load response. Output should hold consistently once the cell has been properly conditioned.

The V1 body feels warm near the battery bay after a long event shoot — is that normal?

Capacitor recharge is high-current work, and the cell handles that load continuously during a busy shoot. Some warmth at the battery bay is expected and normal at sustained high-power use. The BMS will trigger a thermal cutoff before temperature reaches a damaging level — if the flash stops firing and the cell is hot to the touch, let it rest for ten minutes at room temperature before resuming. If the cell is running noticeably hotter than it did in previous sessions at the same power setting, check that the battery bay contacts are clean and making full contact.
