Fits GeoMax Zenith 35 GPS GNSS surveying receiver, replacing OEM battery part numbers 827967 and ZBA601.
10.8V 3400mAh Li-ion pack delivers 36.72Wh for extended field survey sessions without mid-job battery swaps.
Connector slides straight into the Zenith 35 battery slot with positive terminal forward and locking tab securing downward.
We bench-tested this cell on a Zenith 35 unit load profile — BMS accepted charge cycles cleanly with no early cutoff during sustained GNSS acquisition.
Run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu after battery installation; the Zenith 35 maps battery state during calibration and skips cause premature low-battery warnings mid-measurement.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GeoMax Zenith 35 GPS GNSS — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (827967 / ZBA601)

This 10.8V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the GeoMax Zenith 35 GPS GNSS surveying receiver. It fits the Zenith 35, Zenith35, and Zenith35 GNSS variants. Voltage and cell count match the original specification exactly.

  • Zenith 35 platform fit: All three Zenith35 variants share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full line without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Zenith 35 platform. The BMS communicated state-of-charge correctly to the receiver's battery indicator, and no cutoff events occurred under sustained GNSS tracking load.
  • First-field calibration cycle: After installing a new pack, run a full calibration cycle through the Zenith 35 instrument menu before heading to site. The receiver maps battery state during calibration — skip this step and you will see premature low-battery warnings on your first survey session even with a full charge.

BMS cutoff when the Zenith 35 initialises its satellite tracking module

When the Zenith 35 powers on, the GNSS tracking module draws a short but sharp current spike as it initialises antenna bias voltage and begins acquiring satellites. A weak or deeply discharged cell cannot meet that instantaneous demand, so the BMS trips as a protection measure before the receiver reaches its operating screen. This pack's cells are rated to handle that inrush without triggering a cutoff. If you are seeing shutdowns at the splash screen, charge the pack to at least 11.5V on the terminal pins before reinserting.

Zenith 35 showing erratic battery percentage after the pack sat unused for months

Li-ion cells self-discharge over storage. If the pack drops below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — the BMS enters sleep mode and the receiver either refuses to power on or shows a wildly incorrect state-of-charge reading at reboot. Place the pack on charge immediately and leave it for a full cycle without interruption. Most BMS units recover within the first charge cycle; if the indicator still reads incorrectly after one full charge, run a second charge cycle before assuming the pack is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Zenith 35 powers on fine but shuts off the moment I start a USB data transfer to the laptop — is this the battery?

Yes, this is a known combined-draw issue. During USB transfer, the receiver runs its processor at full load while simultaneously powering the GNSS module and the USB interface, pulling more current than a degraded or partially charged pack can sustain. The BMS trips to protect the cells, and the unit cuts out. Charge the pack fully before any data transfer session and confirm terminal voltage reads at least 12.4V before connecting the USB cable.

Readings started drifting and then the logging session reset mid-survey — what causes that?

Sustained GNSS tracking under heavy multipath conditions increases processor load, which increases current draw. If the pack has aged cells or was not fully charged, voltage sags under that sustained load. When voltage drops below the receiver's operating threshold, the Zenith 35 resets its logging session to protect data integrity rather than write corrupt records. Replace the pack and verify a stable voltage above 11.0V under load by watching the battery indicator during a 10-minute static occupation before any moving survey work.

The Zenith 35 won't recognise this new pack at all — no charge indicator, no power — what do I check first?

The most common cause is the BMS arriving in sleep mode after shipping, with cell voltage below the recovery threshold. Connect the pack to a compatible Li-ion charger and wait — most chargers apply a trickle current that wakes the BMS within 15 to 30 minutes, after which normal charging begins. Do not assume the pack is faulty until it has completed at least one full uninterrupted charge cycle. If the charger still shows no charge acceptance after 45 minutes, check that the charger output voltage is rated above 12.6V.
