Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leica TS01 Total Station — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GEB264)
This is a 7.4V 5200mAh Li-ion battery for the Leica TS01 Total Station. It replaces OEM part numbers GEB264 and 945125. The TS01 is a robotic total station used in construction layout, land surveying, and civil engineering fieldwork — battery failure mid-session is not recoverable without a spare.
- TS01 platform fit: The TS01 battery bay accepts a specific connector orientation and BMS handshake protocol. This pack matches the 7.4V cell configuration and communication lines the TS01 expects — a mismatch at either point causes the instrument to flag a battery fault before it even powers on.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the TS01's power-on sequence, EDM module initialisation, and sustained angle-tracking load. The BMS held stable across all three draw phases without tripping into protective cutoff.
- First-use calibration cycle: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the TS01 instrument menu before field deployment. The instrument maps battery state during that sequence — skipping it causes the low-battery indicator to trigger early on the first measurement session, even with a full charge.
Why the TS01 cuts out when the EDM module initialises
The EDM (electronic distance measurement) module draws a sharp current spike at initialisation — higher than steady-state operating draw. An aged or partially depleted OEM pack can't deliver that burst without voltage sagging below the BMS cutoff threshold. The instrument interprets this as a battery fault and shuts down, even if the display was showing adequate charge seconds before. A fresh pack with full cell capacity handles the spike without voltage collapse.
TS01 not recognising the new pack after the instrument sat unused for months
Li-ion cells self-discharge over storage. If the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a sleep state to prevent over-discharge damage — and the TS01 won't see a valid battery signal at all. Connect the pack to a charger first and leave it for at least 30 minutes before inserting it into the instrument. Once cells recover to above 3.0V per cell, the BMS wakes, the handshake completes, and the TS01 powers on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TS01 shuts off mid-measurement even though the battery indicator showed over 50% — what's happening?
The TS01's battery indicator reads voltage at rest, not under load. When the EDM or servo motor draws peak current, cell voltage sags — if it dips below the BMS cutoff threshold, the instrument shuts down instantly regardless of what the display was showing. This is a cell-capacity issue, not a meter error. A replacement pack with full-rated capacity maintains voltage above cutoff during high-draw events.
Readings reset or the logging session drops out partway through a job — is the battery causing this?
Sustained sensor load during a long logging session creates a steady draw that an aging pack can't hold at stable voltage. When voltage drops unevenly across the session, the TS01's processor can drop the active measurement thread to protect hardware — it looks like a software glitch but traces back to voltage instability. This is different from a hard shutdown: the instrument stays on but loses session data. Check cell voltage under load; a healthy pack holds above 7.0V during active tracking.
The TS01 powers on but shuts off as soon as I start a USB data transfer to my laptop — why?
USB data transfer adds a secondary draw on top of the instrument's normal operating load. Together, they pull more current than the TS01's DC rail is designed to sustain from a weakened pack. The BMS sees the combined draw exceed safe discharge rate and cuts output. This failure mode is specific to simultaneous instrument operation and USB transfer. Transfer data with the instrument in standby mode, or use a fully charged pack — cells should read at or above 8.2V before starting a transfer session.
