Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Topcon Hiper Pro / Hiper Lite Plus Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (24-030001-01)
This is a 7.4V 5200mAh Li-ion battery for the Topcon Hiper Pro and related GNSS receivers. It replaces OEM part number 24-030001-01 and fits the Hiper Lite Plus, Hiper-L1, Hiper Ga, and six additional models in the same platform family. Capacity is 38.48Wh — matched to the original specification.
- Hiper platform compatibility: The Hiper Pro, Hiper Lite Plus, Hiper-L1, and Hiper Ga share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One part number covers the full platform because the power rail and handshake logic are identical across these receivers.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through a GNSS receiver load profile — powering satellite acquisition, RTK lock, and sustained data logging. The BMS held steady through each phase with no unexpected cutoffs at the rated cell voltage thresholds.
- Post-installation calibration: After fitting this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the Hiper's instrument menu before field deployment. The receiver maps battery state during that routine. Skipping it causes the low-battery warning to trigger early on your first job site session.
BMS lockout after the Hiper Pro sat unused in a carry case for months
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If a pack sits long enough, cell voltage drops below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. At that point the BMS enters a locked protection state and the receiver will not power on, even when connected to a charger. The fix is to connect the pack to the OEM charger and leave it for a full charge cycle — some BMS circuits need sustained trickle current for 30–60 minutes before they exit lockout and begin accepting a normal charge rate. If the charger LED never changes state after two hours, the cells have dropped below recoverable voltage.
Hiper receiver shuts down mid-session during USB data transfer to PC
USB data transfer adds a secondary draw on top of the active GNSS and logging load. On a partially depleted pack, the combined current pull causes a momentary voltage sag that trips the BMS undervoltage cutoff — even if the battery indicator showed sufficient charge before you plugged in. This is not a fault with the pack; it is a load-threshold event. Charge the battery to above 7.2V before initiating any PC transfer session and the cutoff will not trigger.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Hiper Pro powers on fine but shuts off the moment it acquires RTK lock — is the pack faulty?
RTK lock triggers a spike in current draw as the receiver energises its full satellite tracking and radio link simultaneously. On a new or recently stored pack, the BMS may interpret that spike as an overcurrent event and cut output before the cells can stabilise under load. This is a BMS protection trip, not a cell failure. Charge the pack to full, then power the receiver on indoors with no active satellite session first — let the BMS log a baseline load before you take it to a site with full RTK demand.
The battery percentage on the Hiper display jumps around erratically after fitting a new pack — what causes that?
The receiver's state-of-charge indicator is calibrated to the voltage curve of the previous pack. A new cell has a slightly different resting voltage profile, so the display recalibrates over the first few discharge cycles. Run two full discharge-and-charge cycles through the instrument's normal field workload. After the second cycle the voltage-threshold mapping resets and the percentage readout stabilises.
The replacement pack will not charge at all after arriving — charger light stays solid red and never moves to green.
A solid red fault light on the Topcon charger usually means the BMS entered deep-discharge protection during shipping. Connect the pack to the charger and leave it for 90 minutes without interrupting the connection — the charger delivers a low-level recovery current that needs sustained contact to pull the BMS out of lockout. If the light shifts to amber or begins cycling within that window, the recovery is working. If it stays solid red past two hours, measure the pack voltage at the terminals — anything below 5.0V across both cells indicates the pack arrived outside recoverable range and should be exchanged.
