Fits Alcatel One Touch POP 8 and P320A models, replacing OEM battery TLp041C2 and TLp041CC.
This 3.8V 4050mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge capacity on tablets showing rapid drain or shutdown.
Connector type is proprietary Alcatel two-pin; orientation marked on the cell; no locking tab — seats flush into slot.
We bench-tested this pack in a One Touch POP 8 tablet; BMS accepted charge cycle without fault codes or thermal drift.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge calibration and resolves inaccurate percentage display that appears after a battery swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch POP 8 / Trek HD — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp041C2)

This is a 3.8V, 4050mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Alcatel One Touch POP 8, P320A, Trek HD, and OT-9020A tablets. It replaces OEM part numbers TLp041C2 and TLp041CC. If your tablet drains faster than it used to or won't hold a charge at all, this is the correct cell.

  • POP 8 and Trek HD platform fit: These tablets share the same 3.8V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across the P320A and OT-9020A variants. One SKU covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the POP 8 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, and charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. The fuel gauge IC calibrates against the new cell's actual charge curve during that first full cycle — skipping this step is why most users see jumpy percentage readings after a swap.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new battery hits a voltage point the IC associates with near-empty on the old cell, it triggers a shutdown — even though actual capacity remains. The fix is a single full discharge-to-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the IC maps the new cell's voltage curve correctly and shutdowns stop occurring above 5%.

Fast charging unavailable on the POP 8 after a battery swap

The charge IC negotiates charge rate during the first accepted cycle. If the tablet was powered off during installation or the first charge was interrupted, the IC may default to a slow trickle rate and not step up. Plug into the original Alcatel charger — not a generic USB port — and let the first charge complete without unplugging early. After one complete cycle, the charge IC re-negotiates and fast charge resumes. Confirm the charger outputs at least 5V/2A to rule out the adapter as the limiting factor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alcatel POP 8 battery percentage jumps around and doesn't match how long the tablet actually lasts — is the new battery faulty?

The new cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC inside the tablet was calibrated to the old battery's charge curve, and it takes one full cycle to remap to the new cell. Drain the tablet to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it mid-charge. After that single cycle, percentage readings stabilise and track accurately.

The POP 8 gets noticeably warm while charging the new battery — should I be concerned?

Warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new lithium-polymer cell is normal. The charge IC runs at a slightly higher current as it characterises the new cell's internal resistance, which generates mild heat. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — during a standard 5V charge, unplug it and check that you're not charging in direct sunlight or inside a case that traps heat. Normal operating temperature during charge sits below 40°C.

My POP 8 percentage drops fast from 100% but slows down in the middle — did I get a low-capacity cell?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a low-capacity cell. The IC hasn't completed calibration against the new battery's full discharge curve yet, so it front-loads the percentage drop at the top. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. That single cycle gives the IC enough data to spread percentage readings evenly across the actual 4050mAh capacity.
