Fits Launch X-431 Turbo Diagnostic tablet; replaces OEM part number L19D1P31.
This 3.85V, 4900mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full diagnostic runtime and software update capability on the X-431 Turbo scanner platform.
Connector orientation matches the factory slot; no adapter needed—physical fit is direct and confirmed on hardware.
We bench-tested the BMS on initial charge; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell signature without fault codes or premature cutoff.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100%—this resets the fuel gauge calibration and eliminates inaccurate battery percentage display that often appears after a cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Launch X-431 Turbo Diagnostic — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L19D1P31)

This is a 3.85V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement cell for the Launch X-431 Turbo diagnostic tablet. It fits the X-431 Turbo — a professional automotive scan tool used for live vehicle diagnostics, ECU coding, and software updates. Capacity is rated at 18.87Wh, matching the original L19D1P31 specification.

  • X-431 Turbo platform fit: The X-431 Turbo uses the L19D1P31 cell with a flat Li-Polymer form factor at 115.54 × 97.50 × 2.50mm. The BMS connector pinout and voltage rail match the original, so the charge IC on the tablet communicates with the replacement cell without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the X-431 Turbo platform. The BMS accepted the new cell on first connection, charge current stepped correctly through CC and CV phases, and no protection cutoff events were triggered during load testing.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installation, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and eliminates the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a battery swap.

X-431 Turbo shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the degraded original cell. The old cell had a steep voltage cliff at low charge — the IC learned that cutoff occurs early. With a fresh cell, the voltage curve is different, but the IC still triggers shutdown at the same learned threshold. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge resets the calibration. After that cycle, the tablet should reach genuine 0% before shutting down rather than cutting at 20%.

Fast charging not available on the X-431 Turbo after a battery swap

The X-431 Turbo's charge IC negotiates charge rate partly based on battery state data from the new cell. On first connection, the IC defaults to standard charge current until it has completed one accepted charge cycle and confirmed cell behaviour. Plug in using the original charger and let the tablet complete a full charge without interruption. Fast charge typically becomes available from the second charge cycle onward once the IC has logged a clean initial cycle against the replacement cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My X-431 Turbo is showing 60% battery but just shut off mid-diagnosis — what's going on?

The fuel gauge IC on the X-431 Turbo is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. It learned where the voltage cliff was on the original battery and is triggering shutdown at that same point on the new cell. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff with the screen and Wi-Fi active, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle resets the IC's cutoff threshold against the new cell's actual voltage curve.

The battery percentage on my X-431 Turbo drops from 100% to 80% within a few minutes of unplugging — is the new cell faulty?

It's not a faulty cell — it's fuel gauge drift. The IC was calibrated to the worn original battery and overestimates capacity at the top of the charge curve for the replacement. We see this consistently on first use after a swap. Do one complete discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the gauge will track the new cell's actual charge curve accurately from that point on.

The X-431 Turbo feels warm near the bottom of the tablet while charging the new battery — should I stop charging?

Warmth at the charge IC area during the first few cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell is normal. The charge controller runs a slightly higher current during the initial constant-current phase while it maps the new cell's internal resistance. We measured surface temps during bench testing and they stayed within safe operating range throughout. If the tablet feels hot — not just warm — or the charge stops and restarts repeatedly, check that you're using the original Launch charger, as third-party adapters can cause erratic charge IC behaviour.
