The Tab Active 3 percentage is dropping faster than expected from 100% — what's wrong?
This is fuel gauge drift caused by the IC calibrating against stale data from the original cell. One complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge corrects the mapping. The Tab Active 3 gets noticeably warm during the first few charges after the swap — is the charge IC damaged?
Warmth during the first two or three charge cycles on a new cell is normal.
