Fits Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus tablet; replaces OEM battery BN80.
3.8V, 8400mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge capacity to the Mi Pad 4 Plus.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with mechanical locking tab on the left edge.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the bench; the BMS held steady voltage until cutoff at 2.5V with no fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN80)

The BN80 is a 3.8V 8400mAh (31.92Wh) lithium-polymer cell for the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus tablet. It replaces the original pack when capacity has faded or the battery no longer holds a charge. This part restores the tablet to its factory power spec without modifying the existing charge IC or connector.

  • Mi Pad 4 Plus fitment: The BN80 is specific to the Mi Pad 4 Plus — not the standard Mi Pad 4. Both tablets share a similar footprint but use different cell dimensions (154.40 × 117.00 × 2.90mm here) and different BMS handshake parameters. Installing the wrong cell can cause immediate charge IC rejection.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the BN80 through charge and discharge on the Mi Pad 4 Plus mainboard. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC reached full voltage without thermal events or negotiation errors.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installation, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This gives the fuel gauge IC one complete cycle against the new cell and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that almost always appear after a battery swap.

Why the Mi Pad 4 Plus shuts down at 15–25% remaining

The Mi Pad 4 Plus runs a large display alongside Wi-Fi and background sync simultaneously. That combined load pulls enough current to cause a rapid voltage sag in a degraded or freshly swapped cell. The BMS interprets that sag as a critically low voltage event and triggers a protective shutdown before the percentage indicator catches up. After completing one full recalibration cycle, the fuel gauge maps the new cell's discharge curve correctly and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging not available after fitting the BN80

Xiaomi's fast charge protocol requires at least one completed charge cycle before the charge IC fully negotiates with a new cell. If fast charging shows as unavailable immediately after installation, that is expected behaviour — not a fault with the battery or the charger. Use the original Xiaomi charger and cable, let the first charge complete fully without interruption, and fast charge will be available on the next session. Using a third-party charger for the first cycle can prevent the protocol handshake from completing correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mi Pad 4 Plus is showing 60% battery but just shut down without warning — is the new BN80 faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to your old degraded cell, so its percentage readings don't match the new BN80's discharge curve yet. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff under normal use — display on, Wi-Fi active — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. One complete cycle resets the calibration and the sudden shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Mi Pad 4 Plus is jumping around after I fitted the BN80 — drops 10% in minutes then barely moves for an hour.

That erratic behaviour is fuel gauge drift — the IC is still mapping an old discharge curve against a new cell. It is not a sign of a defective battery. Discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% in a single uninterrupted session. After that cycle, the percentage display will track the BN80's actual charge state accurately.

The tablet feels warm near the charging port while charging the new BN80 — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth at the charge IC area is normal during the first few charge cycles on a new cell. The charge IC draws slightly more current while it characterises the new BN80's internal resistance. If the back of the tablet becomes hot to the touch or charging stops mid-cycle, disconnect and check that the connector is fully seated. Under normal conditions the warmth reduces after the first two or three full charges.
