Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shure MXW2 Handheld Transmitter — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (95A35233 / SB905)
This 3.7V, 3350mAh (12.4Wh) lithium-ion battery fits the Shure MXW Handheld Transmitter and MXW2 Handheld Transmitter. These are rechargeable wireless microphone transmitters used in live sound, broadcast, and AV presentation environments. This cell matches the original OEM part numbers 95A35233 and SB905.
- MXW and MXW2 platform fit: Both transmitters share the same battery bay geometry, contact configuration, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers both models — no adapter or wiring change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge-discharge on the MXW2 transmitter body. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, held the 3.7V nominal rail under active RF transmission load, and reported charge state accurately through the transmitter's onboard indicator.
- Contact surface maintenance on MXW transmitters: The MXW battery contacts are recessed and collect debris from handled transmitters. Oxidation on those contacts raises resistance and triggers false low-battery readings. Wipe the gold contact pads with a dry lint-free cloth each time you swap cells — do not use alcohol on the transmitter-side contacts, as it can strip the conductive coating.
Voltage sag on the MXW2 under combined RF transmit and DSP load
The MXW2 runs active DSP processing alongside the RF transmit stage, and both draw current simultaneously during live transmission. A degraded or partially charged cell can't sustain the combined load, and voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the indicator shows a partial charge. This isn't a transmitter fault — it's the cell failing to hold voltage under peak draw. A fresh cell at full charge resolves the sag. If signal cuts persist after fitting a new cell, check that the battery is fully charged to 4.2V before use.
Receiver fails to sync after swapping the transmitter battery
The MXW system stores pairing data in volatile memory on the transmitter side. If the battery drops below the BMS cutoff during a swap — even briefly — the transmitter can lose its sync state with the receiver. The receiver shows the transmitter as unlinked even though the new cell is fully charged. Fix this by running the IR sync procedure again: hold the transmitter's sync button close to the receiver's IR window and follow the on-screen re-pair prompt on the MXW access point.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MXW2 transmitter cuts out mid-broadcast even though the battery indicator showed half charge — what's happening?
Voltage sag under combined RF and DSP draw is the most common cause. The battery indicator reads open-circuit voltage, which looks healthy at rest but drops sharply once both the transmit stage and DSP load hit simultaneously. A degraded cell can't sustain that draw even at nominal charge. Fit a fully charged replacement and confirm the cell is sitting at 4.2V before the next session.
After swapping to a fresh battery, my MXW receiver won't find the transmitter — do I need to re-pair every time?
Only when the transmitter loses its pairing data during the swap. If the old cell dropped below the BMS cutoff before you installed the new one, volatile memory on the transmitter side clears. Hold the transmitter's IR window directly against the receiver's IR port and run the sync sequence through the MXW access point to restore the link. Swapping batteries while the transmitter is powered down avoids the issue entirely on most units.
The battery indicator on my MXW handheld jumps straight to low the moment I power on with a new cell — is the battery faulty?
Most likely not — this is a calibration mismatch between the transmitter's fuel gauge and a new cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle. The MXW's charge indicator is tuned to the discharge curve of a conditioned cell, and an uncycled battery reads slightly off that curve on first power-up. Charge the cell fully until the transmitter's LED shows complete, then power on fresh. The indicator will track accurately from the first full charge.
