Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Euro Pro V2945 / V2950 Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (XB2950)
This 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the XB2950 pack in the Euro Pro V2945, V2945Z, V2950, and V2950A cordless handheld vacuums. It restores power to the motor drive circuit when the original cell degrades and can no longer hold a useful charge. Voltage and connector match the OEM specification exactly.
- V2945 and V2950 platform fit: Both the V2945 and V2950 series share the same XB2950 battery form factor, voltage rail, and connector housing. Swapping between these models is straightforward — the BMS in each variant reads the same cell configuration without requiring recalibration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a V2950A motor load. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not false-trip during the suction motor's start surge. Capacity measured within 5% of the rated 2000mAh across three discharge cycles.
- Dock charging discipline for Ni-MH cells: Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the charge cycle completes. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge from cordless vacuum docks develop capacity fade faster than Li-ion packs — charge only when depleted, then pull from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, causing voltage sag in the Ni-MH pack before the cell is actually depleted. The indicator reads cell voltage, not remaining capacity, so it can still show mid-range while suction is already weak. Clean or replace the filter first — a clear airpath brings motor draw back inside the battery's rated discharge curve. If suction improves immediately after clearing the filter, the battery is not the root cause.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. Sustained restricted airflow — a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — pushes motor current above the BMS cutoff threshold. The pack shuts the circuit to protect the cell, then resets once current demand drops. Clear the blockage, confirm the filter is seated correctly, and restart. If the cutout continues on a clean filter with a new cell, the motor itself may be drawing above spec.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Euro Pro V2945 charges fully but loses suction almost immediately — is the new battery faulty?
A fully charged Ni-MH pack that sags quickly under load usually points to filter restriction, not a faulty cell. A blocked filter forces the motor to pull excess current, which drags cell voltage down fast even from a full charge. Clean or replace the filter and run the vacuum again — if runtime extends noticeably, the battery is fine. If the pack still collapses under load with a clean filter, check the cell voltage under load; it should hold above 6.0V during normal operation.
I left my V2950 on the dock for several weeks and now it barely runs — what happened?
Ni-MH cells degrade faster than most chemistries when left on continuous trickle charge. Cordless vacuum docks are not smart enough to stop charging once the cell is full, so the pack takes a sustained low-level overcharge over days or weeks. This accelerates capacity loss and can leave the cell unable to hold more than a fraction of its rated 2000mAh. Going forward, charge the battery only when depleted and remove it from the dock once the light signals full.
The replacement XB2950 battery won't trigger the charging light on my V2945 — what should I check first?
Some Euro Pro chargers expect a specific impedance signature from the battery pack before starting the charge cycle. If the replacement cell arrives deeply discharged, its voltage may sit below the threshold the charger uses to detect a valid pack. Try leaving the battery connected for 30 minutes anyway — some chargers will begin a recovery charge below the detection threshold. If the light still does not come on, measure the pack's open-circuit voltage; anything below 5.0V indicates a deeply discharged cell that needs a slow pre-charge before the charger will take over normally.
