Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

RoboJet Air — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V, 2500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the RoboJet Air robotic vacuum cleaner. It replaces the original cell pack that powers the drive motors and suction mechanism. When the stock battery loses capacity after repeated cycles, this cell restores the unit to operation.
- RoboJet Air platform fit: The Air series runs a 14.4V rail across both the drive and suction motor circuits. This pack matches that voltage rail and the physical connector configuration used on the Air platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the RoboJet Air chassis. The BMS handled motor-start inrush current without tripping, and voltage held stable across both low-pile and carpet surface simulations.
- Dock charging behaviour on Ni-MH: Do not leave the RoboJet Air sitting on its charging dock indefinitely. Ni-MH cells are more sensitive to continuous trickle charge than Li-ion — permanent dock parking accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycle wear. Charge to full and remove the unit from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This is one of the most common complaints on the RoboJet Air, and it is rarely a dead battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the suction motor works harder to maintain airflow and draws more current than rated. The battery voltage sags under that elevated draw, and the motor loses power even though the indicator still reads mid-charge. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the fault. If voltage still sags on a clean filter and a fresh charge, the cell pack is degraded and needs replacement.
RoboJet Air motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering
This cut-and-recover pattern points to the BMS tripping on an overcurrent event rather than the battery being fully discharged. It typically happens when the suction path is restricted — a blocked filter or tangled brush roll forces the motor to pull a sustained current spike that the BMS reads as a fault condition. The BMS shuts output, cools, and resets — which is why the vacuum restarts after a short pause. Clear the brush roll and filter, then recharge to full (14.4V at the pack terminals) before running another cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My RoboJet Air runs for a noticeably shorter time than it used to — is the new battery the issue or something else?
A partially blocked filter is the first thing to check. When airflow is restricted, the suction motor draws more current than rated, which drains the pack faster than a clean-filter run would. We measured noticeably higher current draw on the bench with a simulated blocked filter versus a clear one. Clean or replace the filter, charge the battery fully, and run again — if runtime remains short on a confirmed clean filter, the pack itself may need a full conditioning cycle.
The RoboJet Air charges on the dock but powers on and then immediately shuts off — what causes that?
This is usually the BMS detecting a voltage that is too low to safely deliver motor-start inrush current. If the pack has been deeply discharged — left depleted on the shelf for weeks — the cell voltage can drop below the BMS re-enable threshold. Place the unit on the dock and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge cycle of at least 12 hours. If the pack recovers to above 13V at the terminals and the unit still shuts off on start, the original cell pack is likely beyond recovery and replacement is the correct step.
After fitting the replacement battery, the RoboJet Air will not respond to the charge dock at all — no indicator light, no charging current.
Some robotic vacuum chargers check for a minimum cell voltage before initiating a charge cycle — if the replacement pack arrived in a low storage state, the charger may not handshake with it. Connect the pack directly to a compatible 14.4V Ni-MH charger for 20–30 minutes to raise the cell voltage above the charger's detect threshold, then return it to the dock. If the dock still shows no activity, confirm the dock output voltage is present at the contacts before assuming the battery is at fault.
