Fits Tesla RoboStar iQ600 and iQ500 robotic vacuums, replacing OEM part N789-603.
14.4V, 5200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 74.88Wh to motor and brush assembly without sag.
Connector seats into dock charge port with keyed orientation; locking tab clicks to confirm seating.
We bench-tested this cell on full motor load — BMS held steady through sustained suction cycles without early cutoff or thermal throttle.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently between uses; continuous trickle charge causes capacity fade much faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tesla RoboStar iQ600 / iQ500 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (N789-603)

This 14.4V, 5200mAh lithium-ion battery replaces part number N789-603 in the Tesla RoboStar iQ600 and iQ500 robotic vacuum cleaners. It powers the drive motors, brush roll, and suction fan through a full cleaning cycle. Capacity is sourced from product data at 74.88Wh.

  • RoboStar iQ600 and iQ500 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V motor rail and use the same N789-603 cell pack with an identical connector and BMS handshake, so one cell fits both platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the iQ600 platform. The BMS held steady voltage delivery under sustained suction load and tripped correctly on overcurrent — no false cutoffs under normal carpet operation.
  • Dock charging habit for the iQ600: Do not leave the RoboStar on the charging dock continuously between uses. These robotic vacuums cycle trickle charge when docked indefinitely, which compresses cell capacity faster than intermittent charging. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The iQ600's BMS monitors pack voltage in real time. When the filter is partially blocked, the suction motor draws above its rated current, which causes the pack voltage to sag earlier than a clean-filter run would. The vacuum's indicator reads state of charge, not motor load — so it can show mid-charge while suction is already weak. Clean or replace the filter first before blaming the battery; a clear airpath keeps motor draw within the range this cell is rated to sustain.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the brush roll snags on carpet fibres or debris, the motor stalls momentarily and pulls a current spike well above the BMS threshold. The BMS disconnects the output to protect the cells, then resets after a short cooldown — typically a few seconds. Clear the brush roll of hair and debris, then restart the cycle. If the cutouts repeat on open hard floor with no blockage, check that pack voltage at rest sits above 14.0V before suspecting a cell fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

The RoboStar iQ600 keeps cutting out mid-clean and restarting itself — is the new battery faulty?

That behaviour is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a cell fault. When the brush roll catches hair or debris, the stall current spikes above what the BMS allows and it cuts output to protect the pack. Clear the brush roll and filter, then restart. If cutouts continue on bare floor with no obstruction, check resting pack voltage — it should read above 14.0V; if it drops below that immediately under load, the cell may have a weak group.

Suction feels weak even though the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's going on?

A partially blocked filter forces the suction motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the pack voltage to sag under load even when state of charge looks fine. The indicator reads stored charge, not how hard the motor is working. Remove and clean the filter first. If suction restores after that, the battery is fine — restricted airflow was the cause.

My iQ600 battery degraded fast and barely lasts a full clean anymore — what caused it?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of rapid capacity fade in robotic vacuums. When the unit sits on the dock between every use, the charger cycles a low trickle current through cells that are already full, which stresses them over weeks and months. With the new battery, charge to full and then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use. That single habit change is the most effective way to slow capacity loss on this platform.
