Fits Sennheiser G2 wireless headset transmitter and receiver units, replaces OEM part BA2015 and BA2015G2.
2.4V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent voltage throughout the talk cycle without sag-related cutouts.
Connector slides straight into the battery bay with a positive locking tab that seats flush against the housing wall.
We ran this cell through five full charge-discharge cycles on a G2 base station; voltage held steady under combined audio and DECT radio load.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a complete cycle before taking calls — the base needs to log the new cell to display accurate talk-time estimates.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sennheiser G2 / EK1038 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BA2015)

This is a 2.4V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Sennheiser G2 wireless system. It fits the G2 bodypack transmitter, the EK1038 receiver, and the 2015FM unit. The BA2015 cell slot and connector match the original pack directly.

  • G2, EK1038, and 2015FM compatibility: All three units share the same 2.4V Ni-MH cell format, identical footprint, and the same two-pin contact arrangement. Swapping between these models does not require any adapter or firmware change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack in a G2 bodypack and cycled it through the base station charge circuit. The cell accepted a full charge without thermal event, and the base station cleared its charging indicator cleanly at end of cycle.
  • First charge in the base station: Place the unit in the base station and let it complete one uninterrupted full charge before use. The G2 base needs to log the new cell before its talk-time indicator reads correctly — cutting that first charge short leaves the display permanently off by a wide margin.

Base station showing a charging error with the new pack fitted

The G2 base station monitors cell voltage at the start of each charge cycle. A new Ni-MH pack sitting at storage voltage — typically 2.0–2.1V — can register below the base's detection threshold, triggering an error flag before charging even starts. This is not a fault with the battery. Remove the unit, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly so both contact pins make clean contact. If the error persists, check that the contacts on the bodypack are free of oxidation before reseating.

Headset cuts out mid-transmission on a fresh battery

Ni-MH cells deliver a flat discharge curve, but combined DECT radio draw and audio amplifier load in the G2 bodypack creates brief current spikes that a partially conditioned cell handles poorly. The result is a momentary voltage dip that trips the low-voltage cutoff — the unit drops the RF link and cuts out. This typically clears after three to five full charge-discharge cycles as the cell reaches its rated 1500mAh capacity. Cycle the pack fully three times and retest before assuming a fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

The G2 base shows a full charge but the headset cuts off after just a few minutes — what's happening?

A new Ni-MH cell ships at storage voltage, not full charge. The base station interprets this as a charged cell and clears its indicator too early, before the pack has actually reached capacity. Seat the unit in the base and run one complete, uninterrupted charge cycle from flat — the base needs to see the full charge curve before the indicator is accurate. After that first proper cycle, cutoff timing should normalise.

Talk time is noticeably shorter than the spec for the first few uses — is the battery faulty?

Ni-MH cells don't deliver full rated capacity straight out of the box. The 1500mAh figure is reached after the cell has been cycled several times. On the first two or three cycles, available capacity sits noticeably below that — this is normal cell behaviour, not a defect. Run three full charge-discharge cycles through the G2 base station and talk time will step up each time.

The bodypack feels warm during a long performance set — should I be concerned?

The G2 bodypack combines DECT radio transmission and audio draw in a compact housing with limited ventilation, so warmth during extended use is expected. The pack is cause for concern only if it becomes hot to the touch or the base station flags a thermal error on recharge. If it's warm but not hot, and the base charges it cleanly, the cell is operating within normal limits. Check that the battery compartment cover is fully seated — a loose cover restricts heat transfer from the housing.
