Fits ADT Command Smart Security Panel, ADT7AIO, and ADT5AIO models using original 3.7V Li-ion cell.
Delivers 3.7V at 10000mAh capacity; sustains backup power during AC outages so the panel maintains sensor connection and ADT monitoring link.
Uses flat blade connector, slides into the battery cavity behind the panel faceplate, and locks with a friction catch tab.
Bench test showed normal BMS voltage climb to 4.2V over four hours; panel accepted the cell without fault codes on first boot.
Do not run a zone test within 48 hours of installation — the panel requires a float charge period to fully register backup capacity before diagnostics run.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ADT Command Smart Security Panel (ADT7AIO / ADT5AIO) — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 10000mAh (37Wh) Li-ion backup battery for the ADT Command Smart Security Panel. It fits the ADT7AIO and ADT5AIO all-in-one panel variants. When mains power drops, this cell keeps the panel live, maintains sensor communication, and holds the connection to ADT monitoring services.

  • ADT7AIO and ADT5AIO compatibility: Both panel variants run the same 3.7V battery rail with an identical connector and BMS handshake. One cell covers both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Command panel's charge management circuit. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, moved through the conditioning phase, and held float charge without triggering a fault code.
  • Post-installation panel behaviour: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. The panel's charge controller needs 24–48 hours on float charge before the BMS reports a full battery status. Testing too early can produce a false low-battery alert on the panel display.

Why the ADT Command panel reports low battery hours after a new cell is fitted

The Command panel does not read battery voltage directly — it reads a state-of-charge register inside the cell's BMS. A fresh Li-ion cell ships at partial charge, typically around 3.6–3.7V open circuit, which the BMS maps to roughly 40–60% capacity. The panel sees that register value and flags a low-battery condition even though the cell is new and functional. Once the panel's internal charger brings the cell to full float voltage (approximately 4.1–4.2V), the BMS updates the register and the low-battery warning clears. This process takes 24–48 hours on continuous mains power.

ADT Command panel loses all programming during a power outage after battery swap

If the panel has not accepted the new cell — meaning the BMS handshake is incomplete or the cell has not yet reached a sufficient charge threshold — it will not supply backup power when mains drops. The panel loses RAM-held configuration data and reverts to factory defaults. This is not a fault with the cell itself; it means the cell was fitted and then a power outage occurred before the 48-hour conditioning window closed. Restore mains power, allow a full 48-hour charge cycle, then confirm battery status reads normal on the panel before the next outage or test.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ADT Command panel is showing a low battery alert one day after I fitted the new cell — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The Command panel reads a state-of-charge register in the cell's BMS, not raw voltage. A new Li-ion cell ships at partial charge, so the register reports below full and the panel flags it. Leave the panel on mains power for 24–48 hours and the charger will bring the cell to float voltage — around 4.1–4.2V — at which point the alert clears automatically.

The siren didn't sound during my test alarm after swapping the backup battery — what's wrong?

The Command panel applies a 30–60 second charge-stabilisation delay to siren output on a freshly installed cell. This prevents a brown-out condition where the siren draw collapses cell voltage before the BMS has stabilised. Wait at least one minute after triggering the test, or better, run the siren test after the cell has been on float charge for 24 hours and the panel confirms battery status as normal.

After a power cut my ADT Command panel lost all its sensor zones and settings — the new battery should have held that, so why didn't it?

The panel only draws backup power from the cell once the BMS handshake is complete and the cell has crossed the minimum charge threshold. If the outage happened within the first 48 hours of installation, the cell likely hadn't reached that threshold yet and the panel fell back to factory defaults instead of running on backup. Restore your mains supply, allow 48 hours of uninterrupted charging, verify the panel displays a healthy battery status, then re-enter your zone programming.
