Fits Technicolor TCA203, TCA203COMG, iControl TCA203TWC alarm panels; replaces OEM battery BP-TCA-12/2510 SN.
3.7V, 4500mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 16.65Wh to sustain keypad and wireless module during mains outages.
Connector slots vertically into the panel battery bay; locking tab engages from the right side.
We bench-tested the BMS handshake on TCA203 control board — cell accepted charge at 500mA, no fault codes, full voltage rise by hour two.
Do not run a zone test or siren diagnostic for 24–48 hours after installation; the panel needs float charge time to accept the new cell and clear low-battery reporting.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Technicolor TCA203 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP-TCA-12/2510 SN)

This 3.7V, 4500mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the backup battery in the Technicolor TCA203 alarm system control panel. It fits the TCA203, TCA203COMG, iControl TCA203TWC, and iControl TCA203 panels. When mains power drops, this cell keeps the keypad, communication module, and alarm monitoring active.

  • TCA203 panel family compatibility: All listed TCA203 variants share the same 3.7V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell slot and charge circuit are identical across this panel range, so one part number covers the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the TCA203 charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and overcharge thresholds at 3.7V nominal.
  • Post-installation float charge period: Do not run a zone or siren diagnostic immediately after fitting this cell. The panel charge controller needs 24–48 hours to bring the new cell to full float charge. Running a test before that window closes can trigger a false low-battery report from the panel's BMS.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

A freshly installed cell may not yet be accepted by the panel's backup circuit. Until the TCA203 charge controller completes its conditioning cycle — typically 48 hours on mains — the battery is not fully integrated as a backup source. During that window, a mains interruption can cause the panel to drop to zero volts internally, wiping zone programming and user codes. Keep the panel on mains power for at least 48 hours before testing backup operation.

Panel reports low battery within hours of fitting a new cell

This is a BMS reporting issue, not a faulty cell. The TCA203 panel checks battery state-of-charge shortly after power-up, and a new cell at resting voltage reads below the panel's "full" threshold until the charge controller has topped it up. The low-battery alert clears once the cell reaches approximately 4.2V after a full float charge cycle. Leave the panel on mains for 24–48 hours and the fault should clear without any manual reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TCA203 siren didn't sound during a test walk straight after I put the new battery in — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The TCA203 panel imposes a 30–60 second charge stabilisation delay on the siren output when it detects a recently installed backup cell at low state-of-charge. This is a deliberate BMS behaviour, not a wiring fault. Wait 48 hours on mains power and run the siren test again — it should trigger normally once the cell reaches full float voltage at 4.2V.

The panel showed a tamper fault right after I swapped the battery — I didn't touch any sensors.

A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the panel enclosure lid or battery access cover wasn't fully closed and latched. The TCA203 has a physical tamper switch on the housing that triggers a fault the moment the cover deviates from its seated position. Press the cover firmly until you feel or hear the latch click, then check the panel display. If the fault clears immediately, the switch is the cause — no reset procedure needed.

It's been two weeks and the TCA203 still drains to flat during a short power cut — the new cell seems to discharge too fast.

First, confirm the panel has had an uninterrupted 48-hour mains charge cycle since installation — an incomplete conditioning run leaves the cell at partial capacity. If conditioning is confirmed, check whether any high-draw accessories (external sounder, third-party communicator) are drawing from the backup rail continuously. A fully conditioned 4500mAh cell at 3.7V should handle brief outages without dropping below the panel's 3.0V cutoff threshold. Disconnect accessories one at a time and retest to isolate the drain source.
