Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Paradox K32RF Wireless LED Keypad — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Paradox K32RF Wireless LED Keypad. The K32RF is a wireless security keypad used in home and commercial alarm systems to send arm and disarm commands to the control panel. When the original cell depletes, the keypad loses the ability to communicate with the panel until the battery is replaced.
- K32RF wireless keypad fit: The K32RF operates on a 3.7V Li-ion cell to power its RF transmitter, LED display, and onboard processor simultaneously. This replacement matches the original voltage rail and physical dimensions (53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm) required to seat correctly inside the keypad housing.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles and confirmed the protection circuit trips correctly on over-discharge. The BMS held a stable voltage throughout normal keypad transmit cycles without voltage sag dropping below the panel's communication threshold.
- Post-installation charge window: Do not run a zone or tamper test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24 to 48 hours on float charge before triggering any diagnostic test — the panel needs this window to accept the new battery and stop flagging a low-battery condition.
Alarm panel reporting low battery hours after fitting a new K32RF cell
This is a float charge acceptance issue, not a fault with the replacement cell. The alarm panel's battery monitoring circuit samples voltage against a threshold and will continue reporting low battery until the new cell reaches a full float charge state. That process takes 24 to 48 hours of uninterrupted charge time connected to the panel. Pulling the keypad off the charger or running a test cycle before that window closes resets the counter and extends the wait.
K32RF keypad showing tamper fault immediately after battery swap
A tamper fault appearing right after a battery replacement almost always means the keypad cover or backplate is not fully seated. The K32RF has a tamper switch that triggers if the housing is not completely closed and latched after the battery access point is reassembled. Open the keypad, reseat the cover, and press firmly until all clips engage. Once the housing is fully closed, the tamper fault should clear within one to two minutes without any panel reset required.

Frequently Asked Questions
The alarm panel keeps showing low battery on the K32RF even though I just put in a new cell — why won't it clear?
The panel's battery monitoring circuit doesn't immediately accept a newly installed cell. It needs 24 to 48 hours of continuous float charge before it registers the battery as full and clears the fault. Keep the keypad in place and powered during that window. If the fault is still showing after 48 hours, check that the cell connector is fully seated — a loose contact prevents the charge circuit from completing.
The siren didn't sound during my test cycle after I replaced the K32RF battery — is the new cell the problem?
The panel introduces a 30 to 60 second charge stabilisation delay on a newly installed battery before enabling siren output. Triggering a test cycle immediately after replacement will appear to fail even when the cell is good. Wait at least one hour after installation, then run the test again. If the siren still doesn't respond, confirm the panel's siren output voltage at the terminal — it should read 12V DC under load.
My alarm system lost its programming during a mains power outage shortly after I replaced the K32RF battery — what happened?
A newly installed cell may not yet be in a conditioned state and can't sustain the panel through a full mains dropout. The K32RF battery needs a 48-hour conditioning period on the panel's charge circuit before it can reliably hold programming through a power outage. This is separate from the low-battery fault clearing — even if the panel shows a clean status, the cell may not have reached full capacity. Let the panel run on mains for 48 hours without interruption before testing backup performance.
