Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AARONIA AG Spectran HF-6060 V1/V4 — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (E-0205)
This is a 7.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Aaronia Spectran HF-6060 V1 and HF-6060 V4 handheld RF spectrum analyzers. It matches OEM part number E-0205 and restores portable operation for field RF surveys and electromagnetic field assessments. Voltage and capacity are sourced from product data: 7.2V, 2000mAh (14.4Wh).
- HF-6060 V1 and V4 compatibility: Both versions share the same 7.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell format serves both hardware revisions without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and load cycles on the HF-6060 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, completed its internal verification, and held voltage within the expected operating band under typical RF sweep loads.
- Power-on self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the Spectran to complete its full startup self-test sequence without interruption. The device runs BMS verification at boot. Interrupting that sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot cycle.
Why the Spectran HF-6060 flags a low-battery alarm on a freshly charged replacement
The HF-6060's charge controller applies a conservative acceptance threshold calibrated to a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell has not yet stabilised its internal resistance profile, so the BMS may read its voltage response as below the pass threshold even after a full charge. This is a measurement artefact from the learn cycle, not a fault with the cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before treating any alarm as a genuine battery failure.
Device will not power on after the replacement cell sat unused in storage
Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below the HF-6060's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 5.4V for a 7.2V Ni-MH pack — the device refuses to boot rather than risk operating on an under-voltage supply. Place the battery on a standalone Ni-MH charger first. Once the cell reaches at least 6.8V, re-insert it and power on the Spectran normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Spectran HF-6060 shows a low battery warning immediately after I charged this replacement — is the cell faulty?
The HF-6060's BMS compares the cell's voltage response under load against a threshold set for a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell has higher internal resistance until it stabilises, so the first charge often fails the pass threshold even though the cell is full. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle through the device before treating the alarm as a real fault. After that cycle the BMS learn routine recalibrates and the warning clears.
The Spectran won't finish its boot sequence after I swapped the battery — it restarts partway through startup.
The HF-6060 runs a BMS verification step during boot that draws a short current pulse to confirm the cell can hold voltage under load. A new cell or one that has partially self-discharged can sag below the acceptance threshold during that pulse, causing the device to abort and restart. Connect the device to AC power and allow a full uninterrupted charge, then reboot without pulling the charger. Once the cell completes its first full charge on-device, the startup sequence runs cleanly.
The HF-6060 shuts off mid-measurement after only a short period of use — this didn't happen with the old battery.
New Ni-MH cells deliver their rated capacity only after several conditioning cycles. In the first ten cycles the cell's usable discharge window is narrower, and the HF-6060's load profile during active RF sweeping stresses the cell harder than idle or standby use. The BMS hits its low-voltage cutoff sooner than expected and shuts the device down. Complete five full charge-discharge cycles and the available capacity will reach its rated 2000mAh level. Check that resting voltage after a full charge reads at least 8.6V before field use.
