Fits Additel 672 digital pressure calibrator, replaces OEM part numbers 9702 and BP7416.
7.4V, 1500mAh capacity delivers sustained power for display and measurement functions during field calibration work.
Li-ion cell uses standard connector with positive contact orientation; slides into pack slot with locking tab engagement.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first insertion; no fault codes during probe initialization or sustained sensor load cycling.
After installation, run a full calibration cycle through the 672 menu before field deployment — the instrument maps battery voltage during this step, and skipping it causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Additel ADT 672 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (9702 / BP7416)

This 7.4V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Additel 672 and ADT 672 digital pressure calibrator. It powers the display, measurement circuits, and sensor interface during field calibration work. OEM part numbers 9702 and BP7416 both cross to this cell configuration.

  • 672 and ADT 672 platform fit: Both variants share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 7.4V nominal rail. The BMS handshake threshold is identical across the range, so one pack covers both designations without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the 672's sensor initialisation sequence, where the instrument draws a brief current spike to power the pressure module. The BMS held the load without tripping, and the state-of-charge indicator stabilised within two full charge cycles.
  • Pre-deployment calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run a complete calibration cycle through the instrument's menu before taking it to site. The 672 maps battery state during that sequence — skip it and the low-battery warning will trigger early on your first measurement session, even with a full charge.

BMS lockout after the ADT 672 sat unused in a carry case for months

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If the 672 sat unused long enough, the pack voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 5.0V across a 7.4V nominal pack. At that point the BMS enters a protection state and the instrument will not power on or accept a charge. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30–60 minutes without interruption; most chargers apply a trickle current that nudges the pack above the recovery threshold before switching to normal charge rate. If the charging indicator never activates, measure pack voltage directly — anything below 4.8V across the terminals needs a charger with an explicit recovery or "boost" mode.

ADT 672 shuts off during USB data transfer to PC

USB data transfer adds a combined load — the display stays active, the processor runs at full speed, and the USB interface draws current simultaneously. On a partially depleted pack, this combined draw can pull cell voltage low enough to trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff, which looks identical to a normal shutdown. This is not a fault in the battery or the instrument — it is the protection circuit doing its job. Charge the pack to at least 7.2V measured at the terminals before starting any logging or data export session to keep the voltage above the cutoff threshold throughout the transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Additel 672 powers on fine but shuts off partway through a pressure logging session — is this a battery fault?

This is almost always a voltage dropout under sustained sensor load, not a dead cell. The pressure module draws continuous current during a logging session, and if the pack is below around 7.0V at the start, the BMS trips before the session completes. Charge fully before each logging session and check that the charge indicator shows a complete cycle — not just "charging" — before you disconnect.

The new battery installed, but the 672 is showing a low-battery warning after only a short time on a full charge.

The 672 maps battery state during its calibration routine, and if you skipped that step after fitting the new pack, the instrument is still referencing the old cell's voltage curve. Run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu — the display will recalibrate its threshold to the new pack's actual voltage range and the premature warning will clear.

The 672 won't charge after sitting in the kit bag all winter — the charger light never comes on.

The pack has self-discharged below the BMS recovery threshold, which is approximately 5.0V across the pack. Leave the charger connected uninterrupted for at least 45 minutes; most chargers apply a low trickle current that pushes the cells above the recovery voltage before switching to normal charge. If the indicator still does not activate after an hour, measure voltage directly at the battery terminals — if it reads below 4.8V, use a charger with a dedicated recovery or boost mode to reinitialise the BMS.
