Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Archos 50c Platinum — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AC50CPL)
This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Archos 50c Platinum smartphone. It matches the OEM part numbers AC50CPL and BSE70H and fits the physical battery bay without modification. Capacity is rated at 8.14Wh.
- Archos 50c Platinum fit: The 50c Platinum uses a single-cell 3.7V nominal architecture. This replacement matches that voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake so the phone's charge IC communicates correctly with the cell from first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the 50c Platinum platform. The BMS reported state-of-charge correctly after one complete cycle, and the charge IC accepted current without flagging a fault condition.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes power into an uncalibrated cell — preventing early percentage drift.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
New cells have a steeper voltage cliff than a broken-in cell. When the modem fires up or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes and the cell voltage drops sharply — enough to trip the BMS cutoff even though the fuel gauge still shows 20–30%. The phone shuts off because the protection circuit sees a voltage sag, not because the cell is empty. One full discharge-charge cycle flattens this curve and the shutdowns stop. After calibration, the cutoff voltage should stabilise around 3.4–3.5V under load.
OS reports wrong battery percentage after cell swap
The 50c Platinum's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge model based on the original cell's impedance and capacity curve. A new cell has different impedance, so the coulomb counter reads against the wrong baseline and the percentage shown on screen drifts — jumping up or down without matching actual charge. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown and one full charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new curve and percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Archos 50c Platinum won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
It is likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell after voltage dropped below the 2.5V per-cell protection threshold during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs back above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which the phone will boot normally. If the screen shows no charge indicator after 45 minutes on the wall charger, reseat the battery connector and repeat.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement — the phone charges slowly now even with the original fast charger.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the 50c Platinum defaults to a lower current rate because it does not yet have impedance data for the new cell. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge at the slow rate without unplugging early. On the second charge cycle, the IC re-evaluates cell impedance and restores the higher charge current. If fast charging still does not resume after two full cycles, check that the USB connector is clean and the original charger is outputting its rated voltage — measure at the cable tip if possible.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is something wrong with the replacement cell?
A new high-impedance cell dissipates more energy as heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. On the 50c Platinum, the charge IC does not reduce current for this, so the first two or three charges run slightly warmer than you will see long-term. Warm to the touch is normal; hot enough to be uncomfortable is not. If the phone exceeds roughly 45°C on the back casing, remove it from the charger, let it cool to room temperature, and restart the charge. After two or three full cycles, cell impedance drops and the warmth during charging reduces noticeably.
