Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KAZAM Trooper 540 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TR540)
This 3.8V, 1700mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the KAZAM Trooper 540 smartphone. It matches the OEM part numbers TR540 and TR540-HSHCJ0002088. Capacity figures are taken from product data — 6.46Wh total energy.
- Trooper 540 fitment: The Trooper 540 uses a 3.8V single-cell Li-Polymer pack with a specific connector pinout that carries both charge and fuel gauge data lines. This cell matches that pinout, so the phone's charge IC and fuel gauge IC communicate with the pack correctly from first boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, monitoring BMS cutoff thresholds at both ends. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low voltage and did not false-trip during a simulated modem transmit load spike.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated reference.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Trooper 540 after a cell swap
The Trooper 540's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell in its coulomb counter memory. When a new cell is installed, the gauge still thinks the voltage floor is reached at 20–30% reported charge — so the phone shuts down even though the new cell has capacity remaining. The fix is a full uninterrupted discharge until the phone powers off on its own, followed by a full charge without interruption. After one complete cycle the fuel gauge resets its reference and percentage readings stabilise.
Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack voltage drops below approximately 2.5V the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent cell damage. The Trooper 540 will show no response — no boot screen, no charging indicator — when plugged in immediately after. Connect the phone to a low-current charger, such as a 5V/500mA USB port rather than a fast charger, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The BMS uses that trickle current to recover cell voltage above the lockout threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my KAZAM Trooper 540 shut off suddenly when the battery still shows 25% charge?
The fuel gauge IC calibrated its voltage floor against the old degraded cell, so it triggers shutdown before the new cell is actually empty. This is a coulomb counter mismatch, not a fault with the replacement battery. Run one full uninterrupted discharge until the phone powers itself off, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the gauge recalibrates and shutdowns at false percentages stop.
Fast charging stopped working on my Trooper 540 after fitting the new battery — normal charging still works.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the Trooper 540 sometimes fails to complete the USB negotiation handshake with the new BMS, defaulting to standard 5V charging instead. This is not a fault — it resolves after the first full charge cycle completes and the BMS has registered a full charge state. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Fast charging resumes once the BMS has logged a valid full-charge event.
My Trooper 540 feels warm near the battery while charging after I replaced the cell — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few cycles. The warmth is localised to the battery area and decreases as the cell conditions over three to five charge cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning on screen, stop charging and check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no contact between the cell surface and the chassis edge. Normal warmth — not hot — during the first few charges is expected and reduces on its own.
