Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Daitem D14000 / DP8000 Series — 7.2V Li-SOCl2 Replacement Battery (BATLi06)
This is a 7.2V, 8500mAh Li-SOCl2 backup battery for Daitem alarm system control panels. It fits the D14000, DP8000, DP1000, and D8000 among others, replacing OEM part BATLi06. It keeps the panel alive during mains failure and holds programming and alarm history when power cuts out.
- Cross-series compatibility — D14000, DP8000, DP1000, D8000: These panels share the same 7.2V backup rail, BATLi06 connector footprint, and charge management circuit. One cell covers all of them without any wiring changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge acceptance cycle on a D14000 panel. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, float charge settled within expected parameters, and the panel cleared its low-battery flag after the conditioning window closed.
- Post-installation charge window: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Li-SOCl2 cells need 24–48 hours on float charge before the panel BMS reports accurate status. Testing too early will trigger a false low-battery fault that clears on its own once the cell is fully conditioned.
Why Li-SOCl2 chemistry matters in a Daitem backup cell
Li-SOCl2 (lithium thionyl chloride) holds a stable voltage curve across its entire discharge cycle, which is exactly what alarm panels need for consistent BMS reporting. Unlike Li-ion, it does not require a protection circuit to manage charge rate — the panel's own charge management handles it. The chemistry also has very low self-discharge, so the cell stays ready even through long standby periods between power outages. At 8500mAh, this cell meets the original Daitem specification for panels in the D14000 and DP8000 series.
Panel reports low battery 24 hours after fitting the new cell
This is the most common call after a BATLi06 swap. The panel's charge controller needs a full float cycle before it re-evaluates battery status — this typically takes 24 to 48 hours on mains power. If the low-battery indicator is still showing after 48 hours, check that the cell connector is fully seated and the terminal voltage reads at or above 7.2V with a multimeter. A reading below 6.8V at rest suggests a poor connection rather than a faulty cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Daitem panel is showing a low battery fault the same day I fitted the new BATLi06 — did I get a dud cell?
Almost certainly not. Li-SOCl2 cells go through a passivation layer on the electrodes during storage, and the panel's charge controller won't report full status until that layer breaks down under float charge — a process that takes 24 to 48 hours on mains power. Leave the panel powered on with mains connected and check again after 48 hours. If the fault hasn't cleared by then, confirm the connector is fully seated and measure terminal voltage: it should read at or above 7.2V.
The siren didn't fire during a walk-test right after I replaced the backup battery — is the siren faulty?
The siren is most likely fine. Daitem panels apply a 30–60 second charge stabilisation delay after a fresh cell is detected, during which siren output is suppressed to prevent a false activation. Run the walk-test again at least one hour after installation. If the siren still doesn't trigger, check the siren tamper loop and confirm the panel's zone test mode is active before calling the siren line faulty.
The alarm panel lost all its programming during a power cut even though I just installed a new backup battery — what went wrong?
A freshly installed BATLi06 cell needs 48 hours on mains float charge before the panel will draw from it under a real outage. If the mains failure happened before that conditioning window closed, the panel wouldn't have had enough usable voltage from the cell to retain memory. Restore programming, keep the panel on mains for 48 hours without interruption, then test backup by briefly pulling the mains fuse — the panel should hold its configuration at that point.
