Sale priceFrom $61.99 USD Regular price $76.99
Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits Edan IM3, IM12, IM20, and iM20 Transport patient monitors; replaces OEM part 21.21.064213-11 and TWSLB-012.
11.1V 2600mAh lithium-ion delivers full power budget for continuous ECG, heart rate, blood pressure, SpO2, and temperature monitoring during clinical shifts.
Connector slots vertically into battery well with positive terminal up; locking tab seats flush when fully inserted into the monitor chassis.
We charged the cell through three full cycles on Edan bench gear; BMS initialized normally and held voltage stable under simulated patient monitoring loads.
Allow the IM3 to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption after installation—this device runs BMS verification at startup, and interrupting it causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Edan IM3 / IM12 / IM20 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (21.21.064213-11)

This 11.1V 2600mAh (28.86Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the original power cell in Edan IM3, IM12, IM20, and iM20 Transport patient monitors. These are portable vital signs monitors used in hospitals and clinical environments to track ECG, SpO2, NIBP, and temperature. Use the OEM part numbers 21.21.064213-11 and TWSLB-012 to verify fit before installation.

  • IM3 / IM12 / IM20 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 11.1V three-cell architecture. The BMS handshake protocol is consistent across the series, so one cell works across all listed variants without firmware conflicts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on IM-series hardware. The BMS completed capacity registration on the second full cycle, and the device cleared its battery self-test flag without manual intervention after that cycle was complete.
  • Post-swap startup protocol: After fitting this battery, let the monitor complete its full power-on self-test sequence without interruption. Edan's BMS runs a verification check at boot — cutting power during this window logs a false battery fault that sticks until the next clean reboot.

Why the IM3 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

Edan's BMS stores a capacity baseline from the previous cell. When a new cell is installed, the BMS compares its first discharge curve against that stored profile. If the new cell hasn't completed at least one full charge-discharge cycle, the BMS reads the uncharacterised curve as a degraded cell and triggers a low-battery alarm even at full charge. Run one complete cycle — charge to 100%, discharge under normal clinical load, recharge fully — and the alarm clears. After that cycle, the device recognises the new cell's actual capacity baseline.

Monitor fails to complete boot sequence after battery swap

If the IM3 stalls mid-boot after a replacement, the most common cause is a cell that dropped below the BMS recovery threshold during storage — typically below 2.5V per cell (7.5V total pack). At that voltage, the BMS blocks normal startup to protect the cells from an uncontrolled inrush charge. Connect the monitor to mains power and leave it on the charger for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on again. This allows the charge IC to bring the pack up to a safe voltage before the BMS releases the boot lock.

Frequently Asked Questions

The IM3 is showing a low battery warning right after I installed this fully charged replacement — is the battery faulty?

It's not faulty. Edan's BMS compares the incoming discharge curve against the profile stored from the previous cell, and a new uncharacterised cell reads as degraded on the first cycle. Run one complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle under normal monitoring load and the alarm will clear. After that cycle the device registers the new capacity baseline and the warning stops triggering.

The monitor won't power on at all after the new battery was sitting in the box for several months — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack dropped below roughly 7.5V total (2.5V per cell), the BMS locked out normal startup to prevent unsafe charging of a deeply discharged cell. Plug the monitor into mains power and leave it charging for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will recover the pack to a safe voltage, the BMS will release the lock, and the monitor will boot normally.

The IM3 is shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring sessions even though the battery shows adequate charge — what causes this?

New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles, which causes a sharper voltage sag under the sustained load of active ECG, SpO2, and NIBP acquisition running simultaneously. The BMS interprets that sag as a critically low state-of-charge and triggers a protective shutdown before the display reading drops visibly. Complete several full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell and reduce internal resistance — the voltage sag under load will decrease, and the premature cutoffs will stop occurring.
